Goal 9: Betrayed

The team altogether made their way back to the lockers. A happy aura surrounded them as they were discussing all the amazing things that happened at the match. Ueyama heard the locker door slide open, he didn't even spare a glance at them.

"Oh! Ueyama! We got draw!!" Igaguri enthusiastically told him. "It was kinda hard without you but we managed." Imamura sighed in relief. The team infiltrated the room as they all jumped around. Ueyama had finished packing up his things, "That's good, I guess." He then walked past them. "Keep it up." The door slid open for him and closed when he got out.

Chigiri's eyes had glued to him until the locker door had closed on them. He knew he did something wrong to Ueyama and couldn't help but feel guilty for making him feel this way. Ueyama had protected him whenever someone pestered him about his talent that he would rather not talk about. Now that he is resolved to use his leg to its full power until it breaks, he just can't find himself to go back to his miserable self now that he feels happy and determined to pursue his old dream.

Pink eyes stared down at the things on his bag. "You okay?" Kunigami interrupted his thoughts that were trying to etch in his brain. "I'm fine. Just dozing off."

"Hmm, well, after pulling that stunt there, I get you." Chigiri chuckled. "Yup, that could be it." The two stared at each other before laughing.

Ueyama had made his way to the cafeteria to eat early without his team. He's not in the mood to talk to basically everyone. He scanned his rank and got his meal, he then looked for a table that he wouldn't be seen easily. As he was looking for one, he saw a familiar mop of dark brunette lad talking to someone.

"It's not gonna work this time, Kuon. Those are Team V. '' Ueyama knew that at least one of them had scored the most goals. They are doing fine and are at the top of the 'food chain'. That team had been fighting to get to the top, why need help from the other team now? But, it's not like Ueyama cared. He just sent zero luck to Kuon to give him zero percent of convincing them.

Ueyama had sat down at the farthest side of the whole cafeteria and started to eat. As he ate, the purple monster of his appeared in front of him. It seemed to try and please him as it roamed around. He could only give it a harsh, cold glare- as if telling it to shut up. The monster felt small and did what his host said.

Chigiri. The thought of the said person popped in his mind. "Fuck, now I feel alone." He munched on his food that he didn't even like that much. "Even the cafeteria despises me."

Ueyama thought that Isagi is not someone you could just fuck with. He can influence other people, even Chigiri- who at first seemed resolved that he will quit soccer and that he just needed a reason to quit the sport, wholly changed his mind. Ueyama is determined to quit the sport because it doesn't mean to him, not anymore.

In fact, it hurts him.

So what was he doing here? Ah right, that damned asshole, Bachira- dragged him here.

Team Z had a sub, which is unfair. Maybe, he really should make it an exact number of needed players. He'll ask Ego about quitting and make him unable to participate in any soccer events and competitions.

He eventually finished his dinner and was about to stand up when-

"Ehh, being weak must sound like a hassle."

"Don't underestimate soccer!" A familiar, irritating voice catched Ueyama's ears. Just the thought of the owner of the voice made Ueyama want to cut his ears off. Ah, he really wanted to get out of here now.
