I'm moving on!
He kept seeing the last message sent by her.
It rained heavily, with lightening striking outside yet the night fell silent. Indeed everything fell silent. Rayan sat on the balcony, staring at nothing, though his eyes were soaked with the unshed tears.
“How could she not trust me?” He asked himself.
He scoffed seeing the text message again sent by Aravi.
“How could she just leave me and move on from me like this as if nothing happened between us.”
He grew frustrated and threw his phone.
“She agreed to let me go so easily?”
A lone tear slid down his cheek , mixing with the rain. He let it. For once, he didn’t hide the grief clawing at his chest.
What was love, if not the cruelest form of devotion?
He pulled away himself and composed himself as he need to tell everyone about his and Aravi's separation.
He came outside his room, saw all the decorations and again broke.
“Rayan beta kya hua?” Yash's mother asked him.
Before he could say anything, Yash intervened.
“He broke up with Aravi Mom.”
“Tujhey kaise pata chala?” He looked at Yash suspiciously.
Barsha enters the scene nervously. “Actually Aravi told everything happened between you two"
Rayan gasped and was somewhat surprised that how easily she spoke to everyone that their relationship broke.
It took her no time to spread this news too fast.
“Was she that desperate to break up with me?”
Varsha knew his son and right now she's so upset with the situation. She dabbed delicately at her dry eyes before hugging her son.
"Oh Rayan mera bachcha.. jo hota hai achche ke liye hi hota hai," She kissed his hair rubbing his back.
Pulling back, she whispered, shaking her head. "I never imagined such heartbreak for you. But trust me everything will get fine."
“What will get fine Maa? I was angry at her! It was her responsibility to hold me, to not leave me but she moved on? How can she?”
Yash let out an exaggerated sigh, squeezing his hand. "She was everything to you, Ruru.. We all loved her dearly," He said, tilting his head just right, as if he were truly mourning.
Yash's mother pulled him back and whispered softly but firmly.
“Overacting na kar bachche!"
Mr Mathur, Rayan's father, patted his back with a rehearsed sadness. "It's a tragedy," he murmured, shaking his head.
He took a deep breath to calm himself before he break into tears and sobs.
The moment Rayan turned his head away, the fleeting glances between them told the real story. Yash smirked but got a smack from his mother in return, a subtle nod exchanged between his father and mother.
Rayan sighed, running a hand through his hair, completely unaware of the deception surrounding him. "I just don't know how to move on," he said quietly.
His mother, ever comforting, placed a hand on his shoulder. "You will, my son. And when you do, perhaps you will see that this was for the best."
For a moment, his father’s lips twitched, as if resisting the urge to smile.
“Why the decorations is still going on then?” Rayan asked looking the decoration which was supposed to be decorated for welcoming the bride, his bride his Aravi.
