Key To Lost Memories -Chapter 8- Failed Heist (2)
-----
Great, he just failed at doing the one thing he's supposed to do whenever Kuro's around... Ha-ha, he should tear this stupid contract--

"It's not that big of deal, really-" Kate waved her hands around.

"Kate, is it alright for you to carry all the bags? I'm going to buy something else-you go on ahead and I'll just get our purchases from you later."

"Oh, It's fine-where's Kuro?" She looked behind him. He could see his co-worker talking to the officer inside the car.

"Ah, he's probably in the bathroom over there, I'll go look for him." Kate tilted her head in confusion, but still agreed and rechecked to make sure everything's there before leaving reluctantly.

He pretended to go to the boy's bathroom before slightly looking at the door, hiding, to see if Kate was gone.
He went to the back of the parking lot. There were a few cars, some of them already left. He can tell that some of the black cars are from the culprits, he saw an open door. He went inside, using his phone as a flashlight. The door creaked when he went in.

"I didn't know there was an underground base that's probably a base for criminals..." He looked behind him lazily.
The man flinched, clearly shocked. He spun himself to look at the man before punching him right at the face. He almost fell down the stairs if it weren't Hiroko grabbing him by the arm and throwing him outside the door with a "thump" sound. He seemed to be a professional at hiding...
----------------

The man was definitely unconscious. He continued to descend down the stairs. He saw two doors. In one of them, he could hear laughter behind the door. So, he opened the door on the left instead, quietly. He could hear tiny water droplets falling down onto the floor.

It was empty, it looked like an underground warehouse full of crates and boxes. He walked around and saw a door at the back... It was cold, even without any windows or air conditioning. He placed his phone back onto his pocket after turning the flashlight off due to the light bulb on top of the ceiling. He touched the dusty wall. It was a bit thin; it wasn't soundproof.

He tried to open it, but it was locked from the inside. He grabbed a black hairpin from his bag. He lockpicked the door carefully, making sure to not break the hairpin or mess up. The door finally opened, he saw dusty gray walls and more crates.
But for some reason, he can't shake off that feeling that he wasn't completely alone... and it wasn't because of the men from the other door. He couldn't hear or sense anyone inside the same room as him.

He took one of the small boxes and opened it.

...It was empty. He checked another box that is smaller than the previous one. There was the same black cloak he saw from the red-headed girl and the man who bumped into him. Plus, their pendants looked a bit like the robber's pendants...
but it was also quite different. He decided to take the cloak with him for now, it might be useful. He heard something creak. He was about to find out what made the noise when at that moment, his phone slightly vibrated, but with no sound.

'Thank goodness I turned off my ringtone..' He sighed. He flinched when he heard loud noises coming from the door, he didn't check who messaged him at the moment.

He saw Kuro running away from two people with black masks on their faces. Kuro saw him just when he was about to punch the man in front of him, not noticing someone creep up behind him. Hiroko rushed towards him and kicked the man in the stomach.
He was basically sent flying and crashed onto the wall. Kuro slightly ruffled his hair.

"Kuro..."

"Kuro."

'Ugh...' Kuro groaned.

"Young master!" Kuro flinched. Even though Hiroko's voice wasn't that loud, he didn't even notice that he was spacing out.
