Key To Lost Memories -Chapter 3- Hideout Drive

He fixed his brown jacket after placing his bag under his desk.

"Hiroko... is that a black cat?"

"AWW! ITS SO CUTEE! I didn't know you had a cat!" Kate patted the black creature, Kairyo meowed and wagged its tail that was now on the chair near Katelynn. Before Yuuichi could speak, Hiroko asked a question.

"Yuuichi, do you know someone with the last name... "Tsugimi?""

"You mean Tsukimi? Yeah, they're pretty much cousins of mine... why?" He said, fidgeting with his hands.

"Oh, I just helped someone, and I heard them saying their last name is Tsugimi. It sounded familiar since I heard you mentioned it once so..." Yuuichi was both surprised and happy that he remembered a conversation a few weeks ago. Then Yuuichi cleared his throat after remembering what he was about to say...

"Hiroko, where were you last night? You suddenly ran away and didn't even answer out questions when we found you!"

'Ah. He's asking again...'

"...Just chasing down the killer." It wasn't really a big deal. That assassin definitely did all that on purpose, to lure him since the others didn't seem to notice the man, only felt his presence for a few seconds.

"What?! You should've told me!" Kate stopped petting Kairyo and looked at him with disbelief. She knows Hiroko can defend himself, but he's still pretty weak and to chase down a trained assassin...

'I'm not that weak, if I were then I wouldn't have my current job as a detective...'

"There was not enough time, okay. And I made it through alive so it's alright..."

"...But I lost him. I didn't even get to see his face, except for his... muscular silhouette, but that's all the information that I have..." Hiroko bit his lip. He didn't like lying to them, but he had to this time. He hopes that they didn't notice the slight pause and crack on his voice.

"Not enough time? Seriously? Who cares about that?" Kate raised a brow. Hiroko's eyebrow twitched.

"So, that killer was a man?" Yuuichi placed his finger underneath his chin.

'Well, he's quite handsome-looking, not as much as Kuro though... like a ten at best, even if I can't see his face clearly...'

'Actually, let's not...' Hiroko sighed and patted Kairyo's head after the cat went back to his lap.

"At least we got some info. Thank you, Hiroko... but next time, please don't endanger yourself again..."

'Aren't we detectives?-Isn't that our job? And I'm sure It wasn't that dangerous anyways...' Hiroko raised a brow. Besides, he was sure it wasn't that big of a deal.... Yuuichi smiled softly before deciding to open the door and leave, probably to go to the library.

"This is why I hate pretty faces... I don't think I'm that bad looking myself, but his smile makes me, and maybe even supernatural beings look like a cockroach..." He mumbled.

"Hiroko? have you ever heard of a mirror?" Kate sighed and looked at him with disbelief... Of course, he knows what a mirror is! Why would she ask that? He raised a brow, she looked away and face palmed.

"I have a request..."

"Hmm? What do you need?"

"...Can you check out this building?" He smiled with his eyes closed and took out a photo of a tall building. The man in front of him raised a brow as he looked at the familiar building.
