Key To Lost Memories -Chapter 7- Failed Heist (1)
(*Reading my old writing is a literal jumpscare--)
-----He decided to buy a book to pass the time as he waited for the both of them near the bookstore at the mall, wearing casual clothing with the pink ribbon tying his long hair. He thanked the woman as he went outside, the automatic glass door opening. He glanced at the book on his hand and gently placed it inside his bag, saving it for later. He took his phone out of his pocket and continued reading an online novel, his back leaning on the wall outside of the bookstore.
'It's almost time, huh?' He looked at the time. He's early, it's almost time for them to get here. Yuuichi couldn't come today due to him getting extra work on his shift... He told Kuro about it, and he said he wanted to come as well and forget about the contract, though he probably already did before...
Kuro arrived first, right on time.
"Ah. Sorry, I made you wait." Kuro said, voice same as usual, wearing a casual outfit.
"...Good morning... don't worry. You arrived right on time..." Hiroko looked at him. Kuro looked at the red sign on top of the bookstore. He glanced at his phone.
"Do you like novels?" Hiroko slightly gaped but nodded.
"Yeah, I bought a book earlier." He showed him the book inside his bag.
"That's...! I... like that book. I definitely recommend it..." Kuro said, with his usual calm demeanor, but he can hear the slight excitement in his tone.
'So, we have similar tastes, huh...'
"I see..." Hiroko scratched his cheek. He heard loud footsteps walking towards them.
"Hiroko, isn't that..." He has no idea how to introduce them to each other... but they have met before...
"He's uhh..."
"I'm now a friend of his. He doesn't have to pay me for the suit, I can clean it easily anyways." Kuro shrugged.
'So, you didn't forget it...' Kate nodded slightly before looking at Hiroko's bag.
"Where's your cat?" She asked.
"Ah, Kairyo didn't want to come with me... he's at home." Kate nodded sadly. She seems to already like his cat.
"Ah, there's a popular clothing shop on the second floor! Let's go there." Kate said excitedly, changing the subject. She went to the clothing shop on the second floor, calmly asking them to follow her. It was a cute shop with gender neutral clothing. He gently grabbed Kuro's hand slightly.
"Let's go." He smiled. Kuro's eyes widened as he gently pulled him to where Kate was. Hiroko looked back. He let go of Kuro's hand as he went to Kate's side.
"By the way, why did you turn down the case with the documents and all?" Hiroko tensed, but not enough for Kate to notice since she wasn't facing him.
"I just think Yuuichi's more suited in that case, that's all."
"Right..." Kate nodded. She doesn't sound convinced, like last time. But she knows that Hiroko won't budge, so she doesn't question it. She trusts Hiroko, and she knows he knows what he's doing. Kate's eyes sparkled when she saw an outfit.
"Look, this outfit looks so cute!"
"Right." Hiroko smiled. She held the hanger hanging the outfit.
"Ah! I think this will look really cute on you!" She grabbed a blue ribbon and tied it on Hiroko's head adding a small bow on the right to secure it on the top of his head like a headband.
