When I awoke from a deep slumber at an early nine AM, I looked over at Baylor. His arm was his pillow, and his face was faced towards me where I once laid. I decided to brush my teeth and go downstairs to cook him a birthday breakfast.
When I returned to his room, I noticed that he shifted to face the wall. His shirtless body was covered by his comforter and his head was under the covers. That's when I knew when he was sleeping perfectly well. I hated to wake him up from his peaceful slumber.
I got in beside him and pressed my chest to the side of his arm and trailed my fingers up and down his bare, warm back. I laid my head on his and whispered a "happy birthday" in his ear. I kissed the spot where his jaw met his neck, and he moaned. He turned over to weakly look at me with squinted eyes. He had red marks on his face, another indication that he was sleeping well. His hair was sticking up everywhere in different places.
Baylor draped his arm across my stomach and he nestled his head under my chin. "Baylor, you gotta get up. Breakfast is ready and it's not good cold." I chuckled at his lazy being. Normally he was up before me.
He groaned. "Just lay here with me." His voice was very hoarse and deep.
"C'mon, birthday boy," I encouraged.
"But you're so comfortable and I'm tired."
I ran my thumb over his ear and then my hand trailed into his hair. "Well you can take your first nap as a nineteen-year-old later."
He hummed. "I'm taking it now."
I patted his back. "I cooked breakfast and this is once in a blue moon, so I wouldn't miss it if I were you."
He pressed his elbows and forearms into his comfortable bed and sat up to look at me. His eyes were droopy and I squeezed his cheeks between my fingers. I kissed his forehead and watched him form a weary smile.
"You're lovely," he mumbled and sat up.
"C'mon, Mr. Parker."
He smirked and lazily slid off his bed, into his bathroom. I decided to go downstairs and prepare his food onto a plate and fix his milk. Soon afterwards, I fixed my plate and he came downstairs.
"It smells wonderful." I looked in the direction where Baylor was coming from.
I handed him his plate. "Happy birthday babe."
He winked at me. "Thank you, love." He kissed my forehead and passed me to sit at the island. I sat across from him.
"Damn. Didn't know you could cook well," he grinned. "These chocolate chip pancakes are off the chain." He moaned in satisfaction.
I chuckled. "All for you."
"I couldn't pass this up."
When we were done eating, we both were upstairs getting ready for the day. I told him that I was taking him out for lunch. My treat. And he wasn't paying at all.
"You haven't shaved in like a week, but I'm starting to think you look sexy with facial hair," I stated as I watched him fix his hair in the mirror. "It makes you look more manly."
His smile broadened and he tried fighting with a piece of hair that wouldn't cooperate. "If I kept it at a certain length, would you still kiss me?" he asked.
"Well, duh." I walked out of the bathroom to get dressed into my clothes. I'll just do my makeup when he finishes his hair.
"Well shit." I had forgotten that I was almost completely naked and I turned around to see what was wrong with Baylor.
