Chapter 6. Intruders.

NARRATOR P.O.V

Tuesday 1, Blue Sea Moon.

Y/N and Byleth have returned from their mission. They are currently in the Audience Chamber. In front of them was Rhea and Seteth, the latter having the note Catherine found on Lord Lonato's body.

Rhea:"I am glad to see you have returned safely. The goddess is gracious with her divine protection. But it was not only her divine protection that shielded you, was it? You're as skilled as I had hoped."

Y/N:"Thank you, Lady Rhea but there's much I still have to learn. Specially from my students."

Rhea:"There is no need for modesty. I heard some of the students were... hesitant about fighting militia."

Y/N:"Lady Rhea, the students and I think it was not neccesary to end the lives of all those people. I'm sure some could've been spared or at least imprisioned."

Rhea:"As I said it many times, we must punish any sinner who may inflict harm upon our believers, even if those sinners are civilians. I pray the students have learned a valuable lesson about the fate that awaits all who are foolish enough to point their blades towards the heavens."

Seteth:"Our real concern is what Catherine reported. The secret message that was in Lord Lonato's possesion. It contained a deplorable plot to target the archbishop on the day of the Goddes's Rite of Rebirth. The plan seems unrealistic at best... But a threat is a threat. We must maintain constant vigilance."

Y/N:"With us here, Lady Rhea's life will not be endangered. I will make sure of it."

Seteth:"Good. I want your students to help you with the security on the day of the ritual."

Byleth:"You can count on us."

Rhea:"That is most reassuring. You have my gratitude."

Seteth:"The Rite of Rebirth is of paramount importance. It is when the Church of Seiros and its believers unite to pray for the return of the Goddess. The archbishop and I will be confined to the Goddess Tower once the ritual begins. Of course, the knights will be on high alert as well, but there aren't enough of them to keep watch on every corner of the monastery."

Y/N:"Which is why the students must be mobilised, I assume."

Seteth:"Correct."

Rhea:"While there is no need to fear for my safety, we cannot turn a blind eye to those who would blaspheme so heniously."

Seteth:"With any luck, this will all be for naught. Still, be on your guard. That is all, you are free to go."

Y/N and Byleth nodded and left the room. Both looked at one another, not really believeing Rhea's life is at danger.

Byleth:"It all looks too..."

Y/N:"...sketchy. Lord Lonato, someone who declares war on the Church was carrying information about a plan to kill Rhea. What a coincidence."

Byleth:"Your thoughts?"

Y/N:"Rhea's not the target. Whoever's behind all of this, they want something else. But what are they looking for..."

Byleth:"We have a month to figure it out. They gave us a couple of days to rest due to the students being in an 'mentally weak' state. Let's enjoy them, okay?"

Y/N:"Sure."

Saturday 5, Blue Sea Moon.

Y/N, Byleth and their students are all reunited in the Reception Hall. They still have one free day yet they decided to do a small reunion to talk about their monthly mission, mission Edelgard is fully aware of.
