Chapter 10. Damsel in distress.

NARRATOR P.O.V

A couple of hours have passed since Flayn was saved by Y/N and his class. Currently, he's in Seteth's office speaking with the man himself who was happy that her sister has returned unharmed. He spoke to Y/N with a smile in his face.

Seteth:"Professor... Please, allow me to express my eternal gratitude once more. Flayn is safe and sound and I have you to thank for that. Mere words could not express how thankful I am. I... I am indebted to you."

Y/N:"No need to thank me. I'm simply happy that's she's okay."

Seteth:"Yes, indeed. I... I, too, am overjoyed."

Y/N:"But why? Why Flayn? From all of us why target someone who's not even a student from the three big classes?"

Seteth:"Her kidnapper was the masked man who banished during the Rite of Rebirth. The one known as the Death Knight. Considering the circumstancies, it seems plausible to assume his true identity is Jeritza. And we cannot forget about the Flame Emperor... his true motives are unclear."

Y/N:"What all of this has to do with what I asked?"

Seteth:"I believe the enemy may have been after Flayn's blood. The blood that flows through her veins is special. It is extremely reare... and extremely dangerous. If enemies who know the secrets of Flayn's blood have appeared, our only option is to leave the monastery and go into hiding."

Flayn:"Brother, wait!"

Before Seteth or Y/N could say anything else, Flayn went into his office interrupting the conversation.

Seteth:"Flayn?! What are you doing here? You should be resting!"

Flayn:"I do not like the path of your thoughts! I do not wish to live in some lonely, remote location where I never get to see anyone. Not ever again."

Seteth:"If we stay here you may be targeted again! Wouldn't it be better for the two of us to live in peace?"

Y/N looked around the room, not really knowing what to say. Yet again, he finds himself involved in a family dispute he has no right to intervene in.

Flayn:"Even if we ran off to some new, secret location, there is no gurantee that they would not find us! That is why I believe it would be safest to stay in the monastery, surrounded by capable knights and professors."

Seteth:"I see your point, I do. However..."

Flayn:"You know is the only reasonable option." *Looks at Y/N* "What if I were to join the professor's class?"

Y/N:"It's a good idea. We could take care of her protection while I make sure Flayn learns how to defend herself."

Flayn:"You think so too? I am so very pleased to hear that! With a professor like you nearby. I shall be safe no matter what foe should appear!"

Seteth:"I see. I am afraid you have a good point. Professor, due to my position, I have heavily scrutinized everything about you. After all that has happened, I must admit that you are indeed... a trusted ally. So, what you say? Can I entrust you with Flayn's safety?"

Y/N:"Of course. I'll take care of her from now on."

Seteth:"I shall speak with the archbishop immediately. Please... promise to look after Flayn. She's all I have."

Y/N:"I promise. Now, if you don't mind I will retire to let you two speak further about this. I must prepare tomorrow's classes. Specially now that I have a new student!"

Both Seteth and Flayn nodded, smiling due to the professor's happy mood. He left the mood and walked to his own room while chatting with the girl in his head.
