Chapter 5

Brittany lay in bed, absorbed in her phone, when Kurt walked into her room. Her face lit up with a wide smile as she greeted him, "How was today?"

Kurt returned the smile, "Karofsky congratulated me on 'bagging' you."

Brittany laughed, "So, you aren't getting shoved into lockers?"

Kurt chuckled lightly, "Luckily not today." Brittany playfully cheered, and Kurt continued, "So, did you tell the girl?"

Frowning, Brittany nodded, "I did." Kurt asked, "What did she say?"

Brittany explained, "She was confused, but when I told her I was bi, she got all weird."

Kurt's eyes widened, "You came out to her?" Brittany nodded, "Yeah, she's a lesbian."

Kurt then asked, "What do you mean she acted weird?"

Brittany sighed, "She got out of her seat and said every bi girl she was with cheated on her."

Kurt realized, "So, she assumed that if you two were to get together, you would probably cheat on her with a man?"

Brittany nodded, "Yeah." Kurt pondered, "Isn't that biphobia?"

Brittany shrugged, "I don't read into that." Kurt hummed and asked, "Has she talked to you since?"

Brittany's smile returned, "Yeah, we were texting all night."

Kurt teased, "Oooo." Brittany laughed, and he playfully poked her sides, saying, "Brittany is in loveeeee."

After a few minutes of light banter, Kurt's tone turned serious. "If you two become a thing, will you come out?"

Brittany's smile faded as she considered the implications. "I don't know. I want to, but I have to think about all the looks, if I'm comfortable, and I don't want you getting bullied."

Kurt smiled sadly at her, saying, "I don't care about getting shoved into lockers by that meathead if you're happy."

Brittany frowned, "But I want you to be happy too."

In the crowded school cafeteria, Santana stabbed at the carrot on her tray with frustration evident on her face. Quinn, sitting across from her, rolled her eyes and asked, "Why are you in a mood?"

Santana remained silent, her annoyance palpable. Quinn, with a scrutinizing look, pressed further, "What happened on your date?"

Santana groaned, "Shes not dating Kurt."

Quinn raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Really?"

Santana nodded, "They're both each other's beards."

Quinn's expression shifted to one of understanding, "That must suck."

Santana sighed, "And she's bi."

Quinn, puzzled, questioned, "What's wrong with that?"

Santana shook her head, "Nothing, really. But what if we get together, and she leaves me for a guy?"

Quinn, unimpressed, rolled her eyes, "Anyone can leave you for someone else in a relationship."

Santana voiced her concern, "It's more common for bi people, though."

Quinn scoffed, "What, because they like both genders?" Santana nodded, and Quinn continued, "You know Dani said she's a lesbian and all but still cheated on you with a girl and a guy."

Santana frowned, "What's that got to do with anything?"

Quinn explained, "Just because Blondie is bi doesn't mean she is going to cheat on you."

Santana, still skeptical, said, "I still don't get why you brought up Dani."

Quinn pointedly replied, "When you were in the talking stage with Dani, you didn't think, 'What if she cheats on me with another girl?' But because Brittany is bi, you assumed she will cheat."

Santana crossed her arms over her chest, processing Quinn's perspective. "Oh."

Quinn nodded, "Now act like a normal young adult and get over her being bi."

Brittany stood in the girls' locker room, beginning to peel off her football jersey after practice. The sound of a voice from behind made her turn, and to her surprise, there stood JBIs.

"Brittany, is it true you're dating Kurt?" he asked casually.

Brittany gasped, quickly covering her chest, "Why are you in the girls' locker room?"

JBI shrugged, unfazed, "That's not an answer."

Panicking, Brittany stammered, "It's true."

JBI narrowed his eyes at her, probing further, "So why were you on a date with Santana Lopez yesterday?"

Frowning, Brittany clarified, "It wasn't a date."

JBI smirked, enjoying the confrontation, "But at her school, she was overheard saying that you're Kurt's beard and you're bi."

Brittany glared at JBI and took a step forward, accidentally dropping her jersey while shoving him back. He took an unwelcome glance before Brittany swiftly smacked him.

"Ow!" he yelped.

"I'm not gay, it wasn't a date, and get out of the girls' locker room, you perv," Brittany asserted.

JBI whined and rushed out, leaving Brittany annoyed.

Brittany sat in her classroom, feeling the weight of eyes on her. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, wondering why she was attracting so much attention. Soon, a girl settled into the desk next to her. Brittany glanced to her side and saw a ginger cheerleader with a disdainful expression.

The girl looked at Brittany with an air of superiority and said, "I know I'm hot, but don't look, dyke."

Brittany frowned and replied, "I'm not gay."

The ginger cheerleader eyed Brittany up and down, dismissing her with a condescending, "Whatever, freak."

Feeling a surge of frustration, Brittany couldn't bear the judgmental atmosphere. She stood up abruptly, causing heads to turn, and walked out of the class, leaving behind the echoes of laughter.

Santana sat in class, eyebrows furrowing as she received a text from Brittany: "If ur not in class, meet me outside." Confused, she quickly replied, "Outside?"

The next message clarified Brittany's mysterious request: "I'm taking u to Breadstixs, so I'm outside ur school."

Santana blushed at the unexpected surprise and teased, "That sounds creepy."

Brittany's nonchalant response came swiftly, "Whatever. If ur not here soon, I'm not taking u."

Determined not to miss out on a Breadstixs trip, Santana slipped out of the classroom unnoticed by the teacher. In the car park, her eyes lit up when she spotted Brittany leaning against a car.

Santana quickly approached, and Brittany, opening the passenger door for her, greeted her with a simple "Hey."

However, Santana sensed something off about Brittany's demeanor, prompting a slight frown on her face. Despite the seemingly casual interaction, there was an unspoken tension that lingered between them.
