Kiara's pov
"Shaadi krne aaye hai aapse," Rihaan says with a straight face.
"This is not a joke, Rihaan. For me this is serious, so let's just get it over with and tell me why you are here," I say with all the confidence in the world I sure as hell not feeling. All the memories which I had buried deep down are rolling back again. It took so much time to get over him. I can't start it again.
"Your fashion sense hasn't changed I see. Still keeping it tact after all these years. You know for a time I thought that you would drop marketing and go into fashion designing."
"Just because I know how to dress up and am a woman does not mean that suddenly I'll have an interest in studying it, Mr. Roy and you are deterring from the topic in hand," I say but I am so confused. And emotional. I take a sip of my wine I had forgotten about after ordering. It's so needed right now.
"So maybe our kid, girl or boy whoever can pursue it if they wanna, what say?" he asks winking at me. And I start choking on my wine.
Yay, Kiara making a fool of herself. What's new in that.
Ugh shut up, inner voice. I wipe my lips with a napkin while thinking kya phook ke aaya hai ye insaan aaj? Ganja, afeem?
"Nahi, hume nashe toh aapko dekh ke ho rahe hai," he says and- OH MY GOD did I say that out loud? At this point my inner voice is just face palming herself.
"Rihaan, okay I get it. You have a way with words and I am sure you get loads of them with your looks and well now your words. I get it, okay? But why the fuck are you here?" I say starting to get annoyed now. More at myself than him. All those memories are rushing back like a dam opened.
FLASHBACK
"What are you gonna get me today?"
"Whatever you want, Kiara."
"You know, you should say no to buying me stuff sometimes. You are spoiling me!"
"Okay, don't get anything today then," he says with a smirk and I know he is kidding but still taunting and being dramatic is my thing after all.
"Hawwww, you shouldn't say no to your girlfriend."
"Tell me Kiara what starts with a Hypo and ends with a crite," I gave him a side glare while he waits two seconds for his dramatic pause, bitch. "Yes, you guessed it right a hypocrite," and he gives me the biggest smile. Hate him.
"No, you don't hate me."
"Get that smile off your face, jerk," I say and show him my tongue.
"Who is gonna say that you turn 18 in two months hmm? Harkate dekhi hai apni," he says while wrapping his hand on my shoulder.
"Right now, I am 17, a minor and you are 18. Technically, you are a pedophile. Bach ke reh thike na nahi to case kar dungi," I say scrunching my nose at him and tryna look serious. I love our nonsense moments the most about us. These are the moments when I see my future with him.
"Acha"
"Han, or fir tu jail jayga or waha sadu sa muh bnake rakhega or terko meri bahut yaad aaygi par main to nahi aaungi or or chinta mat krio uncle aunty or Ruhanika ka dhyaan main rakh lungi bas terko bahar nahi nikalne dungir fir-" he covers my mouth with his hand.
"Kiara, I love you but SHUT UP."
"This is called manhandling you know," I say as soon as he removes his hand from my mouth.
"Or teri bakwaas ko kya kehte hai?"
"Mera pyaar," I saw giving him the cheesiest smile while he just rolls his eyes at me.
"Okay come on, today I wanna buy you something,"
"Wow, Kiara buying me a gift. That's new." I let the comment pass because we both will get in a bickering match again. And I buy him gifts it's just that his parents are a little strict so I have to go for little presents or think about excuses for him before buying stuff.
"Bhaiya, show me the rings na, those ones yes."
"You proposing to me already, whiskey? Don't you think it's a little soon" God this guy loves to infuriate me.
"Yes, I am. I am going to get down on a knee then call your parents and ask for your hand. Then I am gonna disclose our relationship to my parents and by the end of it we both would be homeless so then we'll sleep on footpaths and be in love," and he knows he can never win from me in bickering.
"You should get your brain checked. There is too much nonsense in it." He says while I get busy in selecting a ring for him. He has wanted one for some time now and it's just he didn't get time to buy on his own so I thought I would.
"Here, try these two. Hey, they both look good."
"I know right, you tell me which one, Ki?" I am a gemini. I am always confused. How could he ask me?
"Bhaiya, pack both of them."
"One is enou-"
"Shhh, it's not like I often buy you stuff plus you know they are cheap, we ain't buying stuff from a mall,"
"See, you can act cute, too," he says making me roll my eyes.
"Sach keh rahi hu main ek din na bhaag jaungi tujhe chhodke," I say while trying to act tough.
"Toh usme konsi badi baat hai," I start saying something but before I can he says, "pakad lunga tujhe," and he says it with so much confidence.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Kiara, are you okay?" Rihaan asks me pulling me back from my trance.
"Yeah, yeah, fine." But am I? I did run away 9 years ago and he never caught me. He deleted me from my life just like I had.
No, don't go down that road, Kiara. You can't handle it, not right now especially. You are supposed to be looking for a guy to get married to not reminiscing about your ex.
I look up and see Rihaan watching my every move with a concerned gaze like I am going to fall off any second. And I do not like it. I don't want his pity or anything from him.
"Back to my question, Mr. Roy. Why are you here?"
"Ruining our meet up, aren't you Kiara?" he says with a smirk and finally being done with his shit I give him a dead look in return.
"Oh well, as you wish, then. It's about time we started talking about business anyways, Ms. Grover," and suddenly his expression far rather his whole demeanor change.
..............
What business Rihaan?? WHAT BUSINESS???
