Meanwhile at the Roy Mansion
Author's pov
The second eldest son of the Roy's is getting married in less than a month. The whole family is very happy about it but the Roy mansion is nothing less than a chaos right now.
"Ruhanika, have you sent the invites to your friends? Please don't tell me at the last minute that you have forgotten someone," says Akanksha Roy, the first daughter in law of the Roy's and the mother of Rihaan and Ruhanika. She is married to Adarsh Roy who now owns a chain of coaching center for engineering and medical. He started as a teacher in someone else's coaching center but at a later age finally found something bigger. Thirty percent of his income goes towards the education of young children in need. Even after being a big name in the teaching field at heart, he is still a simple teacher.
"Don't worry, ma. Everything is set, there is a whole team of cousins at force," says Ruhanika, younger sister of Rihaan. She is a 23-year-old and is following in the footsteps of her father. But instead of the teaching part she is more focused on the business part of things. She is not selfish but she wants the coaching centre to be a wide platform for every type of career and stream and it to provide coaching not only for engineering and medical like every other institute but also for international exams, design programs or even NIFT, NID etc. One can say that she is a dreamer.
"How can I not worry? In less than a month my only son is going to get married. Saas ban jaaungi main. Zimedaari hogi mere upar itni," says her mother frowning at her.
"Aap par kya zimedaari hogi, ma?"
"Vo bachi bilkul paraye ghar main aa rahi hai shaadi karke, uska dhyaan rakhna, use akela mehsoos na hone dena, uska naya parivaar banne ki zimedari hai mujhpe or tum sab pe par sabse zyada mujhpe kyuki saas hongi na main," Akanksha said with a broad smile, feeling happy and proud about the aspect of becoming a mother-in-law.
"Vibha di knows us all very well. She is Kritika di's one of bitchy best friends. Bachpan se bhai ke peeche padi hai vo," Ruhanika doesn't like Vibha at all. While she has her fair share of problems with Kritika, the eldest daughter of her badi bua, she never thought that Kritika would somehow manipulate her grandparents to agree to this wedding. And her biggest problem was that her beloved brother didn't argue once.
"Do not speak about her like this, Ruhi. She is a bit rigid and rude sometimes but she is going to be your Bhabhi. Do not forget your manners," Akanksha said in a little scolding tone. Ruhanika thought the world of her mom and her family but they all turned a blind eye to the antics of badi bua and her two daughters. She loved Ayaan bhai and Srivantika Bhabhi, his wife but hated his mother and sisters.
......
As it is a Saturday all the working men and women of the household either have a leave or a half day from work. The whole family is sitting in the living room just after having a late lunch except for the choti bua and her family who live in Russia, Kritika who has been married for 4 years now and Rihaan.
Suddenly, the house blasts with the ring of doorbells and loud knocks like someone is trying to bulldoze their way in the house.
"Aa rahe hai, baba," says Srivantika rushing to the door. 'Ek chen pal nhi hai is ghar main, kabhi sasu ma ki dimaag ki ghnti bajti hai or do min baitho to ghar ki,' Srivantika thinks.
As soon as she opens the door, Vibha starts screaming on her face.
'Mummy ji ko competition de sakti hai ye chilane main,' Srivantika thinks while giving her a blank look and just standing there.
