Kiara's pov

I told my family about Rihaan a few days ago. And as expected my father thought it is too soon, my mother asked thousand and one questions and my grandparents could be titled as the happiest two people alive at that moment.

They wanted to meet Rihaan immediately but he had to leave for an urgent meeting for a few days. He came back yesterday and is going to meet them today.

I am wearing a normal jeans and a shirt with a face full of I-am-going-out-tonight make up. I kind of look like a clown but I do have plans to go out with him tonight. He just doesn't know it yet.

My family though is aware and has promised to keep their mouth shut. I really want to give him this surprise. We haven't talked much after I met his family and he dropped me home. He went on his trip and I got busy with the fast arrangements Ihad to make for the wedding.

The doorbell rings and I go to open the door.

There he stands in all his glory. His hair are a little ruffled. He is wearing a black suit with white shirt. Yeah, he came straight from work. He didn't even take a today off?

"Hi," he says to me and suddenly I have this urge to just hug him but I stay put in my place.

"Come on, let's get this over with," I say bringing him in. He frowns at me but well we only have an hour or an hour and a half at max before we need to go out and start celebrating.

"Everyone, Rihaan. Rihaan, everyone," I say for introductions. It's not like I have a bigass family like him. He can guess by age and looking at them who is who.

"Come sit, beta," mom takes him to the living room. My house ain't a mansion in any way but I do pretty well for myself too. So it's not tiny from anywhere either.

A maid brings the snacks and keeps them on the table. Meanwhile everyone sits and just stares at him like he is the circus tiger. I would have laughed at this situation if it were any other day for sure.

I clear my throat loudly, "so?"

"Rihaan, Kiara tells us that you two know each other from high school," dad speaks breaking the silence and I am so thankful for him at this moment.

"Yes, sir," Rihaan says nodding.

"I wasn't asking. Anyways, you were dating my daughter. She was a kid at that time!" yes I spoke too soon. I am not very thankful her broke the silence now.

"Dad, we have already talked about it, please," I say. He and I had an hour-long discussion and argument over it and I thought he was over it.

"Rihaan, you are doing quite well for yourself, I have already seen your portfolio, we ALL have," mom says the last part looking towards dad. He got his information back checked so many times just trying to find one loophole, one lie in it. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't. Ha.

"I just don't get it that why you took so long to get together. Why did Kia kept going on dates if you two were in love?" mom continues. She has never asked me this, why is she asking him?

"We were both denying it until we couldn't anymore. As she would have told you all already I was engaged to get married and I would have if not for seeing her in that club that night," Rihaan says. And what club? We haven't discussed this part of our story, where is it coming from?

"See, at least you are telling us this. When we asked her details she just said it's personal," mom says. And that was the only excuse I had. I didn't want to lie to them anymore than I had to.

"She can be a real mystery sometimes I know," he says agreeing to her and I don't like where this is going.

After that the conversation flows easily with the grandparents taking part in it too. Dad just sits there watching every moment of Rihaan's with hawk eyes like he is going to commit a crime any moment.
