Christmas Special/Chapter 17: Late Christmas

Rimuru POV:

As БКЛИДЕР left, I began working on the paperwork that needed my attention. I was making good progress when Ciel appeared, carrying a little cup of hot chocolate. She walked towards me, sat on my lap, and placed the cup on the desk. Intrigued, I asked her why she was here, and she simply replied that she wanted to see me and deliver the hot chocolate. I expressed my gratitude, took the hot chocolate, and enjoyed its perfection. The taste was incredible, and I couldn't help but kiss her cheek as another way to thank her for the delightful drink. 

"Love, do you know what month and day it is on Earth?" she asked sweetly.

Curious about her question, I thought for a moment and responded,

 "It's November, right? The 28th, isn't it?"

Nope." she said, booping my nose. "It's past Christmas, and almost New Year's on Earth." she explained, gesturing with her hands.

I was surprised to realize I was off by a whole month. I had been planning to prepare a little Christmas party for the town and my family, but it seemed I had missed the opportunity.

So that means only two things for you, love. One is the most likely answer, and I think I already know it since it makes no sense to celebrate the New Year if it ain't even a New Year in this world, love." she said with a smirk.

"So, are we celebrating Christmas, my love?" she asked calmly.

"Yes, my love, we are celebrating Christmas, my love..." I said, kissing her cheek. She giggled and snuggled in closer.

"But first, let me finish this paperwork, and then I'll start planning something to celebrate Christmas for the town or just for our family, okay?" I said, expressing my love to my wife.

I continued working on the paperwork while sipping the delicious hot chocolate my wife had made. When I finally finished everything, Ciel got off my lap, walked to the door, and expressed her excitement about what I was planning. I stood up, stretched, and yawned for a bit before following her.

As I walked out of the building, I took a moment to appreciate the beautiful view of the town. It was stunning, and I couldn't help but whistle a bit, impressed by how quickly we were building and developing everything. Looking at the sky, I thought a little bit of snow would be perfect for the small Christmas celebration I was planning for the town. I decided that once everything was set, I would explain to the townsfolk how to celebrate it and when the festivities would take place.

Using reality manipulation, I created a small area around the town with snow, ensuring that I did not overdo it. Sometimes, when I tried to manipulate reality, things could go awry. I aimed for a perfect, gentle snowfall, making it extra special. As the snow began to fall, the townsfolk grew curious, wondering why it was snowing when the weather had been fine and showed no signs of snow or rain. I gathered the townsfolk and explained to them what was happening. I shared my idea of creating a holiday for all of us called Christmas. I described it as a time for spreading presents and fostering love, hope, and joy while creating great memories with each other. I announced that we would celebrate it on the 25th of the year's end. There was another event I had in mind, but I decided to explain the New Year's events to them later.

The townsfolk didn't seem to disagree with my ideas instead, they happily accepted them, thinking it was a good idea. As I scanned the crowd, I spotted the adventurers and my family among the townsfolk. My family appeared excited about the idea, and Ciel seemed pleased with my plans. However, I didn't spot Luminous, perhaps still asleep after our intimate moment together. Realizing that I had shared the Christmas idea a bit late, and considering that the townsfolk hadn't prepared anything, I decided to play Santa for this occasion. Utilizing my skills, I delved into their thoughts to understand their desires and wishes. Using my creation abilities, I crafted personalized presents based on what each person wanted and teleported them into their hands.
