Rimuru POV:

Everything lies in ruins...

Everything I've strived for is destroyed, my city in ruins, engulfed in flames and crumbling to pieces. It hurts so much. I can barely stand. My sword is shattered, and my skills are either lost or in shambles. My subordinates are probably gone, or barely hanging on. How did this happen? Everything was going perfectly...

"Ciel, please, don't tell me you're gone too..." I whispered, struggling to stay on my feet.

There was silence. I pushed myself up and attempted to tend to my wounds. Despite my efforts, I couldn't fully heal myself. Mei, Millim, and...

I managed to teleport them away when the danger first arose. At least, I can take comfort in knowing my daughters are safe. But I fear for my wives...

I walked down the street, hoping to find someone who could provide shelter during the attack. But I couldn't even summon the twins or Koro using my abilities. Who am I kidding? It's his fault for bringing that thing here and causing all this destruction...

Why am I blaming him? He couldn't have known it would lead to chaos. I mean, I thought it was harmless too. Suddenly, I heard screams. The screams sounded familiar...

Wait...

Velzard!

I hurried to the source of the screams, using the skills I had left to repair and reinforce my katana with the remaining Turn Null I had. That thing seemed nearly indestructible, but this was my best shot. When I got there, I found Velzard being choked by the creature, struggling desperately. It lifted her and slammed her into the ground repeatedly.

I launched myself at the creature, pinning it to the ground and driving my sword into its chest. But it vanished, reappearing behind me. I swung my sword, but it dodged and trapped me on the ground, holding me by my neck.

Its hand transformed into a sharp object, aiming to stab me. With all my remaining strength, I pushed back against it, but it inched closer and closer. Then, suddenly, the creature was encased in ice, freeing me from its grip. I shattered it into countless pieces. Turning around, I saw Velzard smiling through tears, relieved to see me.

I held her tightly, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. It seemed one of my wives was alive. I couldn't believe Ciel and Luminous were gone. Ciel wouldn't abandon me so easily, and Luminous should be safe in her own country....

I suggested to Velzard that we should search for our daughters, and she nodded in agreement. She gently released herself from my embrace and began to walk away. Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice echoing in my mind.

'Master, danger spotted!'

It was Ciel's voice in my head. I knew she hadn't died, but what danger was she talking about? Didn't we defeat the creature? As I turned to look at Velzard, I realized the creature was still alive. Shocked, I hurried to Velzard to save her, but it was too late. She was pierced through her chest. I stood there in disbelief, unable to comprehend what had just happened. This couldn't be real. But I quickly snapped out of it, trying to reach Velzard before she fell to the ground.

Suddenly, I caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of my eye. A figure stood between me and Velzard, moving swiftly. It was too fast until I realized the one who stabbed Velzard was still in front of me. It was a damn doppelgänger. Before I could react, the creature behind me struck...

I suddenly jolted awake, waking Ciel who was sleeping on my chest.

"I hate nightmares. I don't understand why I keep having them at times..." I muttered.
