"Are you sure it's all right for us to be here?" I had this giddy feeling rolling in my stomach as I tighten my hold on Zareena's arms. We were making our way towards the door of an expensive club in the city with the Marino twins in front bumping each other on their tracks. My best friend chuckled. "Trust the boys, Myah." I nodded in hesitation while looking at her smile and tapped my hand. She was wearing one of my body-hugging dress that defined all her curves. It was white and off shoulder and sleeves cut to the elbow. The hem of it reached the portion above her knees. She wore it elegantly with an equivalent strapped stiletto sandals.
After the gang has decided to go to the club owned by the twins' brother for the victory celebration, they all decided to lounge in my house for a quick shower and change.
I had to ransack my walk-in closet before settling to a light blue sleeveless flowing blouse and a white cotton mini skirt paired with wedge sandals. I had my long wavy hair down as instructed by my dearest stylist-best friend. Just a little dub of makeup for a smoky eyes effect and lipgloss were enough to prep me up. Zareena let me wear her necklace that has a mini Eiffel towel item hanging from it as an accessory.
When we came down all the boys' eyes were on both us, Luke has this eyes full of adoration for his girlfriend while the others did a fox whistle. Chase came in from the kitchen and our eyes automatically glued to each other. He just smiled as an acknowledgment. He was wearing a loss V cut shirt and faded pants with his leather jacket slung dripping on one of his shoulders.
The rest of the guys looks good on their outfit. They started to get out of the house and proceeded to their rides. As usual, I'm with Chase. He was trailing at my back as I made sure to do the lock.
"You look.." He started to say.
"What?" I asked without looking at him and deposited the keys in my purse. "Different?"
"Pretty. I was about to say." He reached for his nape and scratched uncomfortably.
"Thanks. You don't look bad yourself." I walked out of the porch ahead towards his parked R8.
Again the silence was eerily awkward as Chase followed the Chevy of the twins. He decided to turn on the music to replace the tension.
Ellie Goulding's Love Me Like You Do slowly play in the background. I haven't seen Fifty Shades of Grey where this song was used as one of its OST but I love it absolutely. I even have it on Spotify playlist on my phone.
You're the light, you're the night
You're the color of my blood
You're the cure, you're the pain
You're the only thing I wanna touch
Never knew that it could mean so much, so muchBetween the two of us, nobody dared to utter a word. Chase's attention was on the road while I on the passing sceneries in the dark. Instead of talking, this kind of mood has become our usual. Awkward at first but it slowly turns comfortable. I think that's what he meant with having our moments together in his car.
The car halted in a wide parking area. I looked around and saw my friends disembarked from their respective vehicles. The guys had this Cheshire smile posted on their faces.
"I can't wait to have fun!" Jessie shouted trying to imitate Jamaican accent but failed while we laughed and followed the twins who were at the door doing high fives with two huge built guards in black tight shirt and jeans.
Luke took Zareena away from me upon entering the huge modern club. He was going all possessive on her with all the guys eyeing his girlfriend.
I felt warmth left me but my senses kicked in when Chase's hands gripped my waist from the back. My breath got constricted for a second and my heart literally skipped a beat.
"I'm here, Myah. I'm not gonna leave you." He said near my right ear that made me nod right away. He directed me to the VIP seats on the second floor overlooking the dancefloor. There was a huge crowd even on a Monday night. And most of the people dancing were students from the nearby university.
I saw other girls looking our way trying to catch Chase's attention but he just gave them a smile. And he nodded to the other guys he recognized. He's definitely a head turner but he seemed not to be bothered with it. We finally made out of the dancefloor onto our exclusive area. I exhaled an air of relief escaping the sweaty and grinding bodies that reeked of alcohol and cigarettes.
I sat with a thud on the plush couch and eyed the drinks that landed on our table served by the waiter. "Enjoy your night, guys!" He said before leaving.
"We will," Phil replied full of enthusiasm.
"Where are the twins?" I asked Chase who was on the other couch. He pointed to them talking to another guy and they moved to our area.
"Hey, guys! Meet our older brother Xannon. He's the owner of club Subzero. " Xanthy introduced to the group.
"I heard you won your first game for InterHigh. The twins were quite ecstatic in telling me about it." Xannon looked like he was in his late twenties. We all nodded proudly. His resemblance to the twins wasn't very far. Charming in his own way.
"Oh come on, Xannon. We don't want to hold you up here. You have a business to run." Xander tapped his Xannon's shoulder.
"I know. I'm swamped. But anything for you, kiddos!" He ruffled the hair of the twins at the same time who also loved the affection. " Enjoy, guys! It's on the house. My brothers seldom bring their friends over. Congrats on the win. Keep it up!"
The brothers hugged before Xannon went to the bar to check on it.
" What are you waiting for?" Xander shouted. "It's party time!" Xanthy seconded.
