It was almost three in the morning when everybody crashed on the carpeted floor of Paul's room. Myah stood by the door handing out pillows and blankets to everybody. The boys had changed into Paul's outfit. Paul would be squirming in heaven right now seeing the boys in his clothes.
Myah looked refresh in a baggy shirt paired with pajamas and hair still wet from the quick shower. Her eyes were on Zareena who was still talking to Luke actually whispering sweet nothings to each other.
"Zareena, aren't you going to stay in my room?" Myah had her arms wrapped folded by the chest.
"I'll stay with them, bestie." Zareena pouted her lips.
"Whatever!" She insisted glaring at her best friend before turning her back on us.
My eyes trailed in her wake as she proceeded to the direction of the kitchen. A soft pillow landed on my face as I heard the guys snickered. "What was that for?" My voice came in annoyed as I threw it back to Zareena.
"I saw the way you look at my best friend, Chase. What are you waiting for?" Zareena was grinning mischievously while Luke was rolling his eyes at me. "Make your move."
"For what?"I almost squeaked in my response. Two more pillows flew towards my direction as I shielded it with both of my arms.
"Don't act so dumb, Chase!" The Marino twins chorused. "Go to her. Spend time with her." Phil joined in.
"Is there a need for us to push you out of this room?" Randell's voice resonated from the corner.
I grunted but inwardly glad at the encouragement I'm receiving from my teammates."You're all obviously ganging up on me." I stood up from my makeshift bed of blankets and pillows. "There's no need for you to be brutal, guys."
They were all laughing when I exited the room and made my way up into the living room. I heard footsteps lurking in the darkness of the kitchen. I found Myah sipping on a mug of milk sitting on a chair and arms leaning on the middle counter.
"Are you okay?" I asked in a whisper.
She suddenly turns around upon hearing me. "Hey, Chase." Her smile wavered right away. "I'm fine."
"Can't sleep?" I made my way awkwardly near her in a matter of seconds.
"You can say so," She said with bowed head and tears shimmered on the counter.
"Why are you crying?" A little bit alarmed when she perked her head and sobbing uncontrollably.
Her face tilted to the side, eyes leering and emotions glinting in it. "You must be tired hearing it from me. I missed my brother so much." This time she was crying out loud enough for her to pour out the emotions.
"I'm sorry." I placed my left arm on her shoulders and pulled her to my side. She leaned in and continued sobbing. The grip on my shirt was not that tight yet I could feel it wet from tears. I really don't know what to tell her so I just shut my mouth up before I say something to ruin the moment. Every now and then running my hand up and down her back to console her.
We stayed that way for almost ten minutes. Myah slightly pushed me before rubbing the shirt she was wearing her tears stricken face. "I'm sorry you have to see me in this state."
"It's all right. Rather me than another guy." There goes my confident remark.
Her weak smile lit up her beautiful face. She punched me lightly on the shoulder. "Whatever, Landon," she muttered breathily.
"Your fond of using "whatever". I told her while she stood up. I ran my hand down to hers and intertwined it together.
"I'm not." She tried pulling it away from me but did not allow it.
"Yes, you are, sunshine."I leaned toward the crook of her neck. I felt her shiver.
"Whatever!" She hissed.
"There you go." That made both of us laugh.
When our laughter died, Myah started yawning with drooping eyes. "I'll take you to your room."
Myah just nodded, let go of my hand and walked ahead of her as I followed her on the stairs toward the second floor of the house. I placed my hands on her waists that she didn't mind at all and gave her the push to go up every step. She opened the first door on the left and sweet smell erupted from the inside of it.
Her arms were crossed by the chest and leaning on the door frame. "Good night, Chase."
I was smiling at her sleepy figure. "That's it? No goodnight kiss? No, invite to stay with you tonight?" I was trying to joke around, lighten the awkwardness.
"You wish, Chase." Myah fired back.
I sneered hiding my own uncertainties. "You hurt me." I dramatically touched my heart.
"I can do something with the goodnight kiss but not with you staying for the night in my room." Myah stepped forward with hands at the side and tiptoed to kiss my cheeks. I moved my head intentionally that the kiss landed on my lips.
I pulled her by the waist and her sudden protest was muted into a lingering kiss. My inner self-getting hungry for her. I savored her taste in mine. I took what she can offer at this moment. It was me who broke the kiss. She was flushed and so am I. I took a quick dip to taste her lips one more time before whispering something in her right ear.
Night, sunshine. Dream of us.
