Joel's POV:

"Who are we picking up?" My mom asked. "Scott.." I mumbled from the back. "Scott!?" Lily yelled. "No yelling.." My mom said. "Yes, Lily, we are picking up Scott." I said, slightly irritated as I crossed my arms. "But you guys fight alllllll the time?" Lily said, stretching the l in all. "Lily. We are going to pick up Scott, and him and Joel are going to hang out at the fair while you, mom, and I hang out together. No more questions." Martyn answered. I mouthed thanks to him.

"Go to the door and walk him to the car." My mom said. I rolled my eyes and got out to knock on the door. "Oh, hello Joel." Scott's mom greeted me as I opened the door. "Erm, are you here for Scott? Or is Martyn here for Scott?" She asked, slightly confused. "Um, me." I said awkwardly. "Scott! Joel's here!" She yelled up at him. "I need like 3 minutes!" He yelled back. "Would you like to wait inside?" His mom asked. "Oh, sure." I smiled and walked inside to wait.

"Is that Martyn!?" I heard Lauren yell as she ran down the stairs, a big smile on her face. Her face dropped when she saw me. "I'm ready! Sorry for the wait." Scott said as he got down the stairs. "Hey, it's fine." I greeted as he got down the stairs. "Bye Lauren!" He kissed her head and walked to the door.

We walked to the car and got in. "Hello Scott!" My mom said as he got in the car. "Hello!" He smiled. I sat there awkwardly as he and Martyn talked. They talked until we got to the fair. "Here's some money for rides, games, and food. Text me or Martyn if you need anything. And have fun!" My mom said as her, Martyn, and Lily walked away.

We stood there in silence until he broke it. "Sooo, what do you want to do?" He asked. "Do you wanna play games first or?" I asked him. "Sure we can play games!" He smiled and walked toward the games.

"We should do basketball." Scott said, pointing at a basketball game. "...you do know I suck at basketball, right?" I laughed as we walked over. "Yup! I know, I just want to beat you." He smirked as we stood in line to play. I jokingly rolled my eyes and got money out. Just then I got a text from Martyn.

💚Martyn🖕

You should 100% take him on the Ferris wheel when it gets darker, he loves Ferris wheels. (You're welcome 😏)

I rolled my eyes at his message and stuffed my phone in my pocket. I handed the game worker dude the money and got ready.

"...." We walked over to a bench and sat down. "I beat you by -" I put a finger to his mouth, "Don't remind me." I whined. He laughed and sat down next to me. "What game next? I'll let you pick a game you're good at so I won't beat you as badly." He smirked as he added the "as badly". "I'm great at everything! But basketball." I mumbled the "but basketball". He laughed again and stood up, he reached his hand down. I grabbed it and walked over to another game, still holding his hand...

We played a few games, I won some but Scott won most of them.... But I bet he cheated! It was now 4:30 pm. "Wanna get a snack?" I asked as we finished putting a few things in my moms car because we didn't want to carry it. "Yeah I'm a little hungry." We ran into my mom and then while getting food so we sat and ate with them.

"Can I talk to you real quick?" Martyn whispered to me. I nodded confused. "We'll be right back!" Martyn smiled and got up. I followed him. "What'd you need?" I asked. "I just wanted to ask how it was going!" He smiled. "It's going fine, I guess. We haven't fought, well we jokingly did earlier but we haven't had a serious fight at all." He smiled big. "I told you! That has to be a new record." He smiled. "Yeah, it's kind of confusing, we usually can't go a few seconds without fighting." I shrugged.
