Beep-Beep-Beep-Beep
Kim Ji-Ah's alarm blares. Ji-ah groans at the annoying sound and rubs her eyes.
"Oh, shut up already!" the seventeen-year-old girl whines as she whacks her alarm. Ji-Ah climbs down from her loft bed, almost falling on the ladder. She makes her way to the circular window in her bedroom and looks out into the street of Hyosan, her hometown. The bright sunset is now only starting to rise. It's only 5:55 am. Ji-Ah knows she has a lot of work to do before she heads to her school, Hyosan High School.
The sleepy girl walks into her bathroom to begin her morning. Ji-Ah looks at herself in her polished mirror. Looking back at her, is a tired, but beautiful girl. Her silky chocolate hair is matted and tangled. Ji-Ah lets out a sigh and brushes her teeth. She brushes thoroughly before spitting the pink, bubbly toothpaste into the sink. Bubblegum. Ji-Ah's favorite. As she swishes the water in her mouth, Ji-Ah contemplates whether she should shower or book it back into her soft, cozy bed. The girl lifts her arm and smells it.
"Yep! Shower it is!" she whispers to herself. Ji-Ah strips off her pink pajamas and steps into the fresh shower. The warm prickles her smooth skin as she runs her hands around her body. Ji-Ah washes her hair as well. She's already in the shower. Might as well, right? As she turns off the shower, the water starts to become icy cold.
"Shit, shit shit!!" the girl whisper-shouts as the not-so-warm water prickles her skin. Ji-Ah rushes out of the shower, seeking refuge in her floral towel. The cotton towel hugs her chilly body as she combs her wet hair. She quickly blow-drys her hair and slips on her star pattern underwear set. Ji-Ah looks at herself in the mirror and poses with finger guns pointing at the mirror. She runs her hands through her silky hair and blows a kiss to the mirror. Realizing she is wasting time, Ji-Ah puts on her school uniform; a plaid skirt, a green cardigan, and a white blouse. The uniform has a tie, but Ji-Ah isn't a fan of it, so she doesn't put it on.
"Where are my socks?" Ji-Ah says in frustration. She walks out of the bathroom, looking for her white ankle-high socks.
"Found you!" she says in excitement. She puts on her socks and remembers she hasn't put on lip gloss or perfume. She dashes back to the bathroom and sprays her lychee perfume on her body. Ji-Ah picks up a pinkish gloss and smothers it all over her pouty lips.
For the last time, she walks out of the bathroom and closes the door. Ji-Ah walks around her bedroom, collecting the things she'll need today. Textbooks, notebooks, cameras, her phone, pencil case, volleyball and soccer clothes, bracelet string. Important stuff like that. Ji-Ah stuffs her hot pink Fjällräven Kånken backpack. Her bag is hung with unfinished bracelets. Wasting no time, Ji-Ah puts her backpack on and rushes down three flights of stairs to her dad's bakery, Goldstar Bakery.
"Good morning, everyone!" the small girl says to the staff. The bakery staff loves her like a daughter, sister, and friend.
"Good morning, appa!" Ji-Ah smiles as she hugs her dad. Kim Hyun-Joong, the bakery owner, is Ji-ah's dad. He is a tall, slim man with a hearty smile - like Ji-Ah. He's where she gets her charm and playful nature from.
"Good morning, my little girl. The pastries for the Han family are on the table." Her dad says with his winning smile. Han Gyeong-Su is a hilarious boy in Ji-Ah's class, but in her junior year, she found out that Gyeong-Su and his family often don't have enough to eat. So, every day, Ji-Ah delivers the pastries and bread that weren't sold the day before to the Han family. Ji-Ah never told a soul about what she was doing for Gyeong-Su's family. Nobody but her dad, of course.
"Thank you. I'm going to make breakfast for the AV club. Are the cinnamon twists ready? Those are Dae-Su's favorites," his daughter asks. Mr. Kim felt proud of his daughter. Even though she does these things daily, every day he becomes even more proud of her.
"You tell him I baked them just for him this morning!" Mr. Kim chuckles, causing Ji-Ah to laugh with him. Once again, she thanks him and starts working on breakfast for her friends.

Ji-Ah secures a bag with the Han's family pastries onto one of the handles of her red bike. In the basket, coffee, and two different types of milk sit. On the other handle, a bag with four egg and bacon sandwiches, cinnamon twists, and a few matcha almond muffins hung. The small girl fixed her Velosamba Cream White Weld Sepia and puts her feet on the paddles. Ji-Ah begins her journey to Gyeong-Su's house, admiring her town as she bikes. Most of her classmates were probably only waking up right now. The fifteen-minute journey was complete, and Ji-Ah mounted off her bike. The girl untied the bag and walked up to the door, knocking on it. As the door opens, a familiar face smiles at her.
"Good morning, Mrs. Han. How are you today?" Ji-ah asks the older woman politely. In the background, Ji-ah can see a sleepy Gyeong-Su walking into the kitchen. Still in his pajamas. Ji-ah couldn't help but smile.
"Thank you, Ji-Ah. I'm well," Mrs. Han says, smiling at the girl in her doorway. "HAN GYEONG-SU!! COME SAY THANK YOU!! I DIDN'T RAISE YOU TO BE IMPOLITE!" she shouts at her son. The sudden shout startled Gyeong-Su, who was nearly falling asleep at the table. He quickly got up and walked to the door. Mrs. Han said one last thank you to Ji-Ah and went to set the table with the delicious pastries.
"Thanks, Ji-Ah," Gyeong-Su says slightly awkwardly. Ji-Ah knew he was truly thankful. He was just pissed because his mom yelled at him in front of her. Ji-Ah smiled and looked down at his pajamas. Shark pyjamas, really?
"I like your pajamas, Gyeong-Su," Ji-Ah said, holding in her laugh. His face turned into a bright shade of red.
"This stays between us," He says to the giggling girl. Of course, Ji-Ah wasn't going to tell anyone. She was only going to tell her best friend, Bin Eun-Ae, and probably use it as blackmail against him.
"Okayy, Gyeong-Su," she walks to her bike, rolling her eyes. "See you at school!!" she yells as she mounts her bike, making her way to school.
