+' Wyatt's pov '+
I looked down at Eos passed out on the cold concrete floor. I opened the metal bar door, grabbing Eos and pulling her close to me. Her raven hair pooling out of my hand. I gently shook her attempting to wake her up.
"Eos, please wake up?" Her body still limp as I spoke. I tilted her head up to see her eyes still closed. "Tara, how long until she wakes up?"
"I'm not sure, could be a few hours to maybe a month or so." Tara shrugged her shoulders.
I picked up Eos, carrying her to our room. I set her down in our bed, covering her with the black comforter. I could hear a lot of commotion coming from outside. I walked out. closing the door behind me. I walked through the hall and down the stairs to the living room to see a group of people in a circle talking over each other.
As the talking grew louder I could hear Tara's voice faintly.
"Back up."
"Give the child some room."
"I swear I will get Wyatt."
With Tara's last sentence the crowd of people took a step back. I walked past the crowd to see Tara holding a small child. The girl had long dirty blonde hair that was thrown into a messy ponytail. A large bruise covered the side of the girls face as she hugged tightly onto Tara's torso. I made my way up to Tara, weaving through the crowd.
"Everyone go do your assignments you were given." I waited a moment seeing everyone look at me, "Now!" I yelled, my tone low and aggressive.
The crowd dispersed, leaving me with Tara and the small child. Tara looked down at the small child that still clung to her waist.
"Who's this?" I knelt down holding out a hand.
The little girl looked at me before returning her focus back to Tara.
"I'm not sure, she came in looking for Eos." Tara's hand ran through the small girls hair "Wrenly." The small girl mumbled.
"Wrenly, that's your name?" I asked her, seeing her golden eyes peek at me.
Wrenly nodded her head, loosening her grip on Tara's waist. I motion to the couch were Wrenly and Tara sat down. I walked into my office walking around to my desk. I reached into my drawer grabbing Eos's coloring book and colored pencils before returning to the living room. I set the book down in front of Wrenly, her eyes widening at the coloring book.
"Thank you." Wrenly said, flipping through the pages.
I got up, patting Wrenly on the head before I began walking down the hall to the bedroom. I grabbed the doorknob, beingsure to not be to loud. I didn't want to disturb Eos, but I did want to make sure she was ok. I opened the door to see Eos, still in the same place as I set her. Her hair laid, spread out on the pillow. I moved next to the bed before kneeling next to it grabbing Eos hand. Her hand was so soft and delicate as I looking at it, lacing my fingers in-between hers. I kissed her hand before looking up at her face to see she still had on makeup. It was a bit weird since it was nothing like what she usually does.
She had more simple makeup with pink tones instead of her usual browns and blacks. I gently untwined our fingers before making my way to Eos makeup desk on the other side of the room, grabbing a makeup wipe. I grabbed it returning to her. I sat next to her as I looped a finger under her chin to lift her head up. I took the wipe and removed the makeup off of her to reveal her natural look. Her natural face was my favorite, her long eyelashes standing out. Her nose piercings complimenting her nose as her lush lips stood out. They were full and soft as ever. I leaned in and kissed her, seeing her wriggle around a bit like she usually did when she was sleeping. I kissed her head before walking out of the room, being sure to close the door quietly behind me.
I walked through the hall to see Tara jump up from the couch and walk to me as Wrenly colored with not a care in the world."She keeps asking if Eos is ok." Tara whispered as she leaned into the wall next to me. "She is ok, still asleep though. I have no idea what Riot gave her." My hands ran through my hair, pushing it back.
"Actually I talked to her a bit, Riot doesn't deal with herbs." Tara paused for a minute, "She does all the herbal care and poisons."
"But she cant be over fifteen?" I said shocked.
"She is actually twelve." Tara pushed off the wall and plopped onto the couch next to Wrenly.
I walked over, sitting on the floor next to the couch to see Wrenly had colored in a picture of a unicorn.
"That looks very pretty Wrenly." I smiled, pointing to her drawing. "Is Eos ok?" Wrenly locked eyes with me.
"She is ok she is just sleeping." I returned my gaze to the coloring book.
"I am sorry I had to give her a jimson weed vial." She folded her hands into her lap, "Riot said if I didn't he was going to kill me like he did to my friend Eastyn."
"Don't worry Wrenly, He won't come anywhere near you anymore." I said rubbing a hand on her back. "Tara since Wrenly knows about herbs and poisons what would you think about having an apprentice?"
"I was just about to ask that" Tara squirmed in her seat excitedly. "Would you like to be my apprentice Wrenly?"
" Absolutely." Wrenly wrapped her arms around Tara.My expression darkened as I remembered I still needed to deal with that pig. "Now, for me to go deal with Riot." A low growl slipped from my mouth.
