We had exactly ten minutes until Stiles Stilinski would be in my house and I took the opportunity to gripe at my mother. "Why on earth would you invite him over to our house?! He's probably gonna like rob us or something." My mother gave me nasty look. "Just look at him, Mom."
"Now Lydia, you know better than to judge a book by its cover and plus he seems nice enough, though I do wander why his parents would let him do that to himself." She mumbled the last part looking confused. She frowned when she noticed my books on the coffee table. "Put those upstairs now."
I ran upstairs with the books and sat on my bed. I really wasn't looking forward to this dinner. I needed to talk to Kira. That's when I tossed my books to the side and grabbed my phone. Just as I hit send, my mother calls my name. I groaned knowing that he was downstairs.
I slowly and grudgingly walked down the steps, praying my mom would be okay with my current plan. As I reach the bottom of the stairs I get a text message from Kira.
Sure thing. Be there in five.
I smiled. Maybe tonight won't be as bad a I originally thought. I walk into the living room to find my mom sitting in one of the armchairs laughing. Stiles was sitting on the couch and he was genuinely smiling at my mother.
I had to admit, he had a gorgeous smile with dimples and all. I honestly could've watched him sitting there all day, analyzing every little detail of his being. The lean muscles that I could see underneath the Nirvana shirt he was wearing were definitely worth exploring.
"Hey Lydia darling, have a seat." Mother broke me from my trance, she was being overly nice. I eyed the couch warily and decided against sitting there just before Stiles caught my attention. He wore a smirk on his lips as he looked up at me, then to the empty seat beside him.
I could tell he was challenging me to sit beside him. I didn't know his reasoning for it, but I wasn't the kind of girl who shyed away from challenges. I strode over to the couch and sat as far as I could from Stiles (which wasn't very far.)
"Mom, do you mind if one more person joins us for supper?" I gave her a small smile as her cheerful persona faltered, long enough for her to give me a dirty look.
"Who?" I could tell she wasn't very happy about it, but she was trying to look calm in front of Stiles, who was practically laughing at me.
"Well Kira's gonna be here in about eight minutes." I smiled nervously as annoyance filled my mother's face.
"Well, since she's already on her way then yes." My mother slowly stood, dusting dirt, that wasn't even there, off of her skirt. "I guess I need to go get started on the lasagna." My mother left the living room and headed for the kitchen. I tried to ignore the fact that Stiles and I had just been left alone.
That's when I felt his eyes on me. I turned to look at him and was met with a smirk. "Well someone's in trouble." I rolled my eyes and looked away from him again, filling the room with an awkward silence. I could feel his eyes still on me and I turned back towards him.
This time he said nothing. His face was suddenly serious and his eyes were watching mine. I took the opportunity to actually study his face for the first time that day. He really was gorgeous. His eyes were a beautiful amber color and rimmed with such beautifully long lashes that were so full, I was almost jealous. I decided then that his eyes were my favorite part of him...at least until I looked at his lips. They were perfectly shaped and even though he had two black, metal rings pertruding from his bottom lip, I couldn't help but imagine kissing him.
As smirk played on his lips, I realized that I had been caught staring. I quickly looked at anything but him. "Hey, don't worry about," I looked up at him, trying to seem confused. "You ain't too bad looking yourself." He stated, wearing a smile and winking at me. I could feel a my cheeks become heated as blushed at his comment. Suddenly the doorbell rang.
