---------------------------------------------------------

It had been a long time since Gon and Killua had some time to think, to speak, to rest, as the last months had passed in constant rush and agitation. And, truly, it was much to the two boys pleasure: they hated boredom and repetitiveness, but overall, this was a bit much. With time, they had grown really tired of such rhythm. So, today, they had decided they would go out in the woods, have a picnic, watch the stars, as they used to do back then, when they met.

The wind was cold. It didn't bother Killua much, he was used to the cold, tho it did make the moment a bit less enjoyable for Gon. The ground was hard and uncomfortable, yet there was something about the atmosphere making it a forgettable detail.

" - The stars are funny tonight. Gon said, and Killua listened with interest. Time passes and things move up there. The sky is like a child: when you watch it everyday you can't see any difference, but when you leave it for enough time and then you come back, it's almost unrecognizable.

- So, you think it looks different? The other asked.

- I don't think so, I know so. Gon stated and Killua hummed approvingly in response. Again, the shorter boy spoke, not moving an inch. Can't you see it? "

Killua remained silent for a second and looked at the sky. He searched through his memories, those related with the stars, but for some reason, he couldn't truly remember what they looked like.

" - I think I've never truly laid an attentive eye over the sky before. And that is because I was too busy staring at you, he added mentally.

- You really should try to. Gon answered sincerely. It's truly impressive when you understand. "

It must be, Killua thought. But he knew that no matter how much time he spent staring at the sky, he'd never have an image of it as vivid as Gon's. His memory was just way better: it was the one thing Killua couldn't beat Gon at. He had surhumain capacities, so did Killua, but Gon's memory was a visual and sensorial type of memory while Killua's was more related to sounds: that's what he had been used to when he worked for the Zoldyck business. Killua snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Gon gasp.

" - Look! Gon said, pointing at the sky. "

As soon as Killua saw the star running through the sky at an incredible speed, he closed his eyes and pretended to make a wish in order to make Gon happy. It wasn't the first time they had seen a shooting star: from memory, Killua would say it was the third one. They had never discussed their wishes or impressions afterwards.

When Killua opened his eyes again nearly ten seconds after closing them, Gon was staring at the sky contentedly.

" - What did you wish for? Killua asked and Gon frowned childishly.

- I can't tell you that! He said, serious.

- Why?

- Because then it won't happen.

- That's stupid. Killua said. If people don't know what you want, how can they help you get it?

- But what if they discover what I want and get in my way? Or what if they try to help but mess up? The other asked. That's why you must trust the sky. Only you and the stars can make things go the way you want them to. He concluded. "

Killua agreed silently with his answer. He was overall surprised Gon had such point of view. He assumed it was just the explanation Gon came up with when he himself wondered why he should keep his wishes secret.

" - I wished for us to have more free time. Gon declared after a long silence. Killua turned his head to look at him.

- Wasn't that supposed to stay secret? He asked.

- It's fine, as long as it's just you. Gon answered. "

Killua decided to not question Gon's train of thought. He probably wouldn't understand either way: Gon had a very specific way to think.

" - Plus, I don't even know who decided we're supposed to keep this a secret. Gon started again. What if that person just wants us to shut up and to keep feeling sorry for ourselves? I don't want that. Killua smiled, turning his head back up.

- It was probably just someone religious who associated shooting stars with their God. He said. It was probably a form of prayer, like confessing your sins in the Catholic religion. It's something which happens supposedly in between a person and God. It must stay secret. "

This time, Gon stayed silent. He rememberes watching Mito and Abbe pray under the stars when he was a kid. It had never felt appealing to him, not even back when he was forced to do it too. Gon looked at the stars a bit more, until he brutally rolled over, slamming the right side of his body against the floor to look at Killua.

" - I don't need a God to realize my dreams. He stated. I can realize them myself.

- I know. Killua smiled, still a bit shook by Gon's sudent change of position.

- And if someday I can't do it myself anymore, you'll do it for me, right? Again, the other smiled.

- Right. "

To this nothing more was added. The two boys just stayed there, laying, and Gon watched as the light reflected by the moon shone on Killua's pale skin, the same way way Killua noticed the pretty greyish tone Gon's face took under the moonlight. There was nothing to say, if there was they wouldn't need to either way: they knew.
