Shirts, shorts, socks and underwear, accessories, jackets and all types of clothes were always his priority. Next, he made sure all of his personal hygiene ustensiles were in his bag, and once he was done, he checked everything one very last time, before smiling at himself contentedly. Killua hated packing, yet he had to do it almost every day. Finishing and closing his backpack was always a relief he patiently waited for. He was finally ready to leave the cold weathers of the north for the equator.

Turning around to look at the hotel bed and make sure he hadn't left any clothes there, Killua felt uneasy. That's when he noticed it, the silence: Gon was gone. Killua had been so focused in finishing his chore, that he hadn't noticed the severe change in the atmosphere of the room. He usually enjoyed silence, however, the emptiness caused by the recent packing up made it all weird.

Killua vaguely wondered if Leorio had an apartment of his own or if he still slept in hotels (it had been a long time since they last spoke), before returning to his current time and location: his current preoccupation. Where was Gon? Killua might have procrastinated, but Gon had prepared his bag beforehand. Done with his part of the work and free of occupations, he could now be anywhere, doing anything, awaiting the flight. Trying to push away the feeling of loneliness overcoming and overwhelming him, Killua walked to the balcony of the motel room.

Immediately when he stepped outside he was hit by the cold. It was raining a lot, and the wind was heavily hitting his face. It did not bother Killua. And finally, there was Gon, dangling his feet out of the small terrace in between the crusty fence that protected people from falling. His legs, not covered by the structure, were soaking wet from the rain. At least his body's developing antibodies, Killua thought. Looking at the rain, Gon seemed annoyed and sad.

Gon usually enjoyed the rain, so much that he'd pretend that the cold didn't make him uncomfortable in order to make the most of it. He liked to stay inside and watch it through the windows, or throw on a coat and go for a walk under it, alongside Killua. On whale island, it rarely rains. Gon was used to seeing rain about three times a year, most of the time in the forest. His encounters with rain became much more frequent after he started traveling with Killua. As much as he loved cold weather, his body seemed to be a party pooper, and he got sick each and every time he was exposed to rain or snow for more than a few hours.

" - Hello there. Killua addressed his boyfriend after noticing his pout.

- Hi. Gon answered with a smile, looking at his interlocutor. Are you done packing yet? He asked.

- I am, actually. The other answered. What's up?

- I don't know. Gon turned to look back outside. It's still raining. He added. "

Gon did love the rain, but right now, it was one of the biggest obstacles in his journey to find his father. He was severely weakened by the colds he'd inevitably catch one after another, even when he covered his whole body, head to toes, with warm clothes. And, even though, most of the time, Gon (successfully) tried to hide it, Killua could tell he was getting frustrated. His patience was running out slowly, and he felt tired.

" - It is. Killua said. Gon's face seemed to darken, as if he expected his friend to deny it and for the rain to disappear. Is it annoying you? The blue eyed teenager asked, sitting next to the other. He crossed his legs in order to avoid getting his pants wet.

- No... Gon belittled. I like it, it's just that my nose is hurting. He said, reluctant. It's been hurting for almost two weeks, and it still won't stop raining. This smell is starting to be annoying, and I can't train properly anymore. He explained. His nose, red from sickness, twitched.

- Don't you think this is a kind of training? Killua asked, laying his head on his crossed arms, looking at Gon.

- What? Gon scoffed. Getting sick, being bed stuck and drinking fifty hot chocolates a day? Killua grinned, amused.

- It's all in the mental. He said.

- What do you mean? His friend asked, confused.

- It's a type of training, you know. It's demoralizing, and tiring, but in the end it's important, because it teaches you how to persevere in the worst of conditions. He finished, staring into the rain.

- Very poetic. Gon stated with a pout. He was annoyed. Killua laughed.

- Cheer up. He said, pushing Gon's shoulder. We're going to an equatorial county. It's gonna be hot there.

- Finally! Gon beamed up at his boyfriend. I've had enough of this. He boldly finished. Isn't the weather change going to make us sick, thought? He asked.

- It's going to make you sick. Killua rectified, earning an irritated whine from his friend. But hey, he spoke again, it's all apart of the training.

- Mother nature's training. Gon responded smugly, mocking his friend. Killua smiled. "

After checking one last time the room and the bathroom of their motel, Killua and Gon left behind the cold, taking a bus to the airport. There, they had to wait many hours for their flight to arrive. During the wait, Gon's mood changed a lot. Now that he knew he was going away from the rain he was sad. He was going to miss it for sure. The sound of the rain hitting the floor was probably one of the most soothing things he'd ever heard.

" - Stop making that face. Killua scolded his friend.

- Sure. Gon answered, turning to the other with a smile. Killua was surprised, but he wouldn't complain. "

Gon knew it'd be okay, because he wasn't alone. No matter if the weather was fire hot or freezing like ice, he'd have fun with Killua, and eventually, he'd succeed to find his father, and once he does, he'll tell him all about Killua. It doesn't matter if people believe in him or not, he'll do it. You just wait and see, Ging.
