"Come on we have to go!" Nene said frantically as she grabbed the back of Kou's shirt and dragged him to the front door, giving Kou only a second to grab the charred and chipped handle of the knife and slide it into his pocket.

"What happened?! Why are we leaving so soon?!" Kou asked as he continued to get dragged by Nene who had a tight grip on his arm.

"Because I found important stuff that could solve all of this!" Nene said excited as she walked into her house and into the kitchen before dumping her bag out revealing a soft pink journal, a handheld firearm that looked like it barely worked, and a long string of bloodstained yarn.

"A gun?? But.....I found a knife in the fireplace?" Kou said confused as he placed the knife and needle on the table.

"Well we know for sure that something happened with this needle and thread here.....but why was it used?"

"....maybe it'll tell us in his journal?" Nene suggested as she held up the book that had Mitsuba's name written in neat, cursive letters on the front. Kou hesitantly nodded his head and took the book from her.

"I'd rather read it...just so someone he knows is the one reading something private," Kou said as Nene looked at him and rolled her eyes.

"Sure the only reason," she grinned as she sat on the couch and Kou joined her soon after.

Kou opened the light pink book and read through several pages, some detailing life at school, some of home, some of romantic interests. Soon it came to the middle of the book, the page didn't concern Kou or Nene much as it spoke about Mitsuba coming out to his parents and telling them about his significant other but what did concern them both is the way Kou suddenly froze after he turned the page to the next entry.

The words were wobbly, there were tear drops that soaked the page, and tiny specks of dried, crimson, blood.
