After arriving on Na Beux Street with the lady hacker herself, Carlos and Feng had showed up in the former's untidy home, which didn't seem to have given the latter a very visible reaction. Instead, Feng was more interested, rather than unimpressed or disgusted by Carlos' living condition.
Carlos: Welcome to my place, Feng. ¿Mi casa, tu casa, no?
Feng: Huh... Looks kinda what I expected, actually. [chuckles lightly]
Carlos: Heh... it ain't the best-lookin' home, but at least I make sure it doesn't lure over rats.
Feng: Don't sweat it. I like how your apartment is, rather than being overly-clean, like that hotel suite...
Carlos: What's the matter with the Sankan Palace, man? I stayed there before, it was pretty cozy there.
Feng: Back in Beijing, I'm pretty used to less tidy home spaces - less so with the hotel rooms. Clean accommodations like that felt... fake to me.
Sitting down on one of the small, wooden chairs at the table, Carlos continued conversing with Feng, as Feng leaned her back on the wall right close to the little radiator under one of the apartment windows. Her arms were crossed while she was listening to what Carlos was going to say next.
Carlos: But you hated that dump of a room back in the first hotel you stayed in?
Feng: I also don't like being stuck in rooms that smell of either pig shit or rotten flesh. [sniffs the air] All I can smell are some Thai takeouts and old beer...
The two shared a laugh after and smiled for a few more seconds from the playful teasing before Carlos returned to solemn mood as his smile steadily waned.
Carlos: So anyways... I'm grateful for what you did - Bringing Revy over to Tony after getting her ass drunk. Thanks, man.
Feng: No worries. The least I can do for you guys is provide some help... so long as I'm getting the support.
Looking over the window by her side, Feng noticed four Latino gangbangers playing a game of dominos on top of the hood of a muscle car, drinking bottles of Sol beer while enjoying their match and laughing out loud in public. The street Carlos was living on was very near Mexican gang territory. Although Los Vagos weren't antagonistic in-nature and were far less violent than the Sicilian Mafia, they were quite a rowdy bunch who mostly act out of impulse. Friendly Latino gangsters, but they weren't exactly soft in this crooked town.
But enough about what wasn't important; Feng took her mind back to the main topic regarding her own safety and status as a PLA deserter.
Carlos: You know... I was kinda hoping you'd leave this city for your sake.
Feng: What, you thought Revy would give me a ride back to the airport I dropped off from?
Carlos: Uh, I guess...
