"Ladd I..." Lua shivered happily, her eyes lighting up as Ladd twirled her around. The gold flecks practically sparkled as she beamed. Her face read like a book; showing shock and delight at the same time. Her dreams were finally coming true.
Ladd laughed, seeing her exuberant face. "Now Lua, doll face, you know I've never been one of the normal people, but I decided this time I would do this right. You deserve it baby doll." Ladd smiled hungrily, relishing every second of being with Lua.
"So Lua, how would you like to marry me?" Lua bit her lip, letting those eyes of hers show her emotion. They were wide and glimmering. Lua nodded happily. "I-i do Ladd! This is all I've ever wanted! Yes!"
Ladd pulled her in close, wrapping his large arms around her small frame. He knew she would say yes. Who could refuse Ladd Russo?
"Just remember baby, you're mine and only mine. Only I will kill you." Lua nodded. "Of course. I love you Ladd." Ladd didn't designate a response to that, because he already knew.
Ladd began walking out of the room, already putting his mind to other thoughts. He thought about his next victim, about what he needed to do that day. This included thinking about what weapon to use. Ladd liked weaponry.
Ladd stopped just outside the doorframe, wanting to see what Lua would do next. He made it a habit to always be watching her, just to see what she did. Couldn't a guy watch his doll? Ladd asked himself that as he peeked inside the room.
Lua was walking, humming to herself. She looked in the mirror, smiling at her reflection. She began to speak, which surprised Ladd. Lua didn't really talk that often, and then only to him. She really never said more than a few sentences, and even those were scarce.
To herself she smiled. "His bride, Ladds bride. This is all you've ever wanted, Lua. And then you'll be happy again." Lua seemed to be looking at more than herself in that mirror. She ran her fingers through her long hair.
"See mama, I knew leaving Germany was a good idea. I've met the man of my dreams, and I shall die by his hand. I know you don't understand our relationship, but it is love. And I am happy."
Lua turned away from the mirror as Ladd snuck back out. Lua... It was just so real hearing it from her mouth. He would get to kill her one day, to taint that perfect pale flesh. And he relished the thought, or at least he thought he did.
Suddenly Ladd heard another voice in the room. Someone must have walked in the other door connecting the two rooms. Someone laughed as Lua gasped. The person coughed. "Hey Lua, where's the boss?"
Lua sighed, not speaking. The stranger must have been annoyed by the lack of words. He grunted. Ladd looked inside the room, trying to assess the situation. The tall man was pushing Lua against the wall.
She looked as though she was trying to get free, but couldn't. The mans face came into view and Ladd noticed who it was. Randy, one of his main men, was betraying him.
Ah well, he thought. They come and go. Randy laughed, prodding Lua. "Well as long as he's gone I can fool around with his broad for a bit. Ladd will never know." Ladd grunted. No one messed with his property. Ever. Especially not mafia trash like Randy himself.
Randy grabbed his knife, setting it against luas neck. He whispered to the trembling woman. "No one has to know doll." That one scene sparked ladds rage.
He flew into the room, pulling out his knife. In one move he had Randy on the ground and Lua against the wall, at a safe distance. Ladd steadied her and leaned down to Randy, anger painting his features.
Randy was begging as Ladd kneeled down. "Poor thing, you feeling a little bruised and broken? Well... Guess they'll have to amputate." Using his knife Ladd cut off Randy's right hand as easily as chopping cheese.
Randy screamed and Ladd laughed. He leaned in close to the dying mans face, spitting in it. "No one touches my property." With that he snapped the mans neck easily and walked over to Lua.
Her face was blank, as it was when he killed. Another one down, another one closer to her demise. Ladd brushed her arm. "Are you okay Lua?" She nodded. Ladd smiled.
"Good, wouldn't want you getting hurt." Ladd pulled her in close, surprised by how much he wanted to kiss her. So he did. The two broke apart, Lua surprised by the ordeal. "Ladd..."
She waited for him to state what he said every time something like this happened: remember, I'll kill you. Ladd didn't feel the urge to say that though, in fact, hurting Lua was at the back of his mind now.
Ladd broke away from her, mumbling under his breath. Lua spoke quietly. "Pardon?" Ladd spoke quietly. "I love you. Get a nice dress for the wedding." He walked out of the room, confused at his feelings.
Lua was his property, his punching bag, he didn't need her. But then again, her smile made him want to dance almost. Her happiness was his craving.
Ladd laughed. "Guess I love her! Ah well, that's life!" Without another thought Ladd walked back to his office, thinking about his bride, and about where he would dispose of Randy's body.
