Byakuya was sitting in the library, reading another murder mystery novel. Everything at Hope's Peak was quite boring, the game was at a standstill. Monokuma was practically fuming at the decrease in murder. But Byakuya was also sort of annoyed with it, it was boring. There was nothing for him to work with, nothing...interesting.
As he flipped to the next page in the book he heard movement from the corner of the library. When he looked up to see who was disturbing him he saw a quick blur of motion disappear behind a shelf. Sighing in contempt, he shut his book.
"I know you're there, come out. Now." As soon as he spoke she shuffled into the light. Obviously, it was Toko. She was wringing her hands and shaking, almost twitching, with nervousness. "U-u-um I can ex-explain b-byakuya..."
Byakuya scoffed. "What do you want? Just hurry up and leave me to my reading. Honestly, can't you just leave me alone." Toko yelped in fright. "A--ahhh I'm s-s-sorry u-um.... I-I was just G-going to get something to r-r-r-read and then I saw y-y-you and I didn't w-want to b-bother you..." She swayed back and forth nervously.
Byakuya sighed. "Whatever, do what you want, then leave. I don't want to deal with you, or that psycho that calls your body home." Toko gasped. "Don't t-t-talk about her or s-she'll c-come back!!!!" Byakuya sighed. "Very well then, please get your book and leave."
He opened his book once more, preparing to continue to divulge in the story. As Toko walked past him she gave a small squeal of delight. Sighing, he closed the book once more. "WHAT NOW?" She had her hands to her face and was smiling with glee. "Y-you're reading one of M-my books???" Frowning, Byakuya looked down to the novel. "It appears so, but I thought you only wrote in the romance genre, this is a murder mystery."
Toko shrugged. "I t-t-tried different t-things a-at one p-P-point." Byakuya nodded "Well, this novel is quite good, I expected no less from the Ultimate Writing Prodigy." Toko practically exploded with glee. "T-t-thank you! I-I-I'll be going n-now!" Without another word she flew out of the library, without even getting a book.
Byakuya sighed. She is quite strange, he thought. That wasn't what was annoying him though. He always regarded Toko as an idiot, a loser, pathetic. But, as he read her book, he had to admit that she was quite a good writer. He had to give her credit for being able to suck the reader in to her story.
He sighed as he turned another page. I think I'm admitting that one of the best books I've ever read is unfortunately written by...her...

A few days went by, and Byakuya finished the aforementioned book. The ending left him speechless, it had the perfect twist. He hadn't yet spoken to Toko about it, and fortunately she hadn't asked. But lately, when he walked around and saw her, he couldn't help noticing something.
She seemed...different, and not like her normal gloomy self at all. She was smiling, and she looked genuinely happy. Byakuya decided that he was going to approach her today, and he would tell her how he felt about her book.
He walked to her room and knocked on the door, hearing her jump to the door in order to open it. When she saw him she gasped . "Byakuya???? What are you doing here?" He frowned. "And why aren't you stuttering like an idiot, as you usually do?"
She smiled, actually smiled. "Come inside and I'll tell you the truth." He cautiously walked into the room and sat down on her bed. She sat down beside him and smiled. "Well, when you divulged my secret I felt pretty bad about myself, and I was extra mopey. But, when you complimented my writing, I felt good. In fact, Syo hasn't taken control of me since then."
She smiled again. "Thank you Byakuya! Thank you so much." Byakuya was confused. She apparently enjoyed compliments a lot, interesting. Well, he thought, I better just leave now before she becomes too attached, or it will be like before. I don't need a psycho on my hands.
He nodded. "I'll be going then." She frowned. "What did you come here for?" He chuckled. "Oh it doesn't matter." She smiled, and her eyes seemed to light up. "Okay, see you soon." As Byakuya left her room he thought to himself, this new Toko is weird, it seems the game has begun once more
(Lolololol time skip)
That night Byakuya lay in bed, admiring the crashing of thunder and lightning that he could hear, even though the windows were bolted down. Thunderstorms always allowed him to sleep more restfully. As he began to close his eyes he heard a frantic knock at the door.
He sighed, pulling on his glasses. Which of the idiots was waking him up at this hour? When he opened the door it revealed a shivering Toko, all the light gone from her eyes. He sighed. "Of course it's you. What do you want?" Toko looked up at him. "U-u-u-u-umm I-I-I...."
Byakuya brushed his hair back. "Spit it out, or leave." Toko yelped as another crack of thunder sounded. "I-I-I'm a-afraid of t-thunder..." Byakuya sighed. "Why is that my problem?" Toko shivered again. "I-i-i d-don't k-know but f-f-for some r-r-reason I tr-trust you..."
Byakuya frowned. "I'm not in the mood for this, or for your problems, goodbye." Without another word he shut the door in her face. He heard a whimper, and then she began crying. Sighing again, he opened the door to reveal her.
She sniffled. "W-w-why do y-you h-hate me s-so much?????" He frowned. "I don't hate you. But you are a nuisance. I prefer a clean and orderly world, and you are constantly getting in my way. Can you stop crying please."
She sniffled again. "I-I-I'm s-sorry..." Byakuya sighed, looking down at her. Her eyes were filled with unshed tears and her normally braided hair was down, a curtain disguising her. She looked pathetic. He thought to himself, I'm going to have to help her to get her to shut up.
He spoke. "Come inside, it's getting late." Toko gasped. "W-what???" Byakuya managed a smirk. "You heard me. You can stay with me tonight." She smiled at him. "T-t-thank you!"
(Two hours later)
Byakuya couldn't sleep, but he could hear Toko breathing contentedly beside him. She slept very quietly, thank goodness. He was confused as to why he had helped her, normally he didn't do anything that didn't benefit him.
What made him suddenly help her when he didn't even want to? He turned his head slightly, looking at her as she slept. It wasn't as though she was an exquisite beauty. She was pretty, sure, but she was also housing a psychopath. Not to mention she was annoying, a masochist, and an all around oddball.
Byakuya sighed. He didn't have time to think about this. He needed to focus on getting out. Another crash of thunder boomed and Toko whimpered in her sleep. He awkwardly pat her back. "Shhhh it's alright. Shut up."
He settled down, he needed sleep. Suddenly, Toko rolled over, into his arms, by accident. Generally he would have shoved her out of the bed but for some reason he decided to let it happen. Just for tonight, he thought. As his eyes closed he had a scary thought. Do I actually like this psychopath? He fell asleep before he could ponder the question.
Needless to say, Byakuya slept better than he had in months.
(Sorry I've been reading Byakuya/Toko fanfiction for a few hours and I couldn't resist. I, myself, have a teensy Weensy crush on him, heh. Anyways, bye, lol)
