As questions rushed to his thoughts, he stood up and rapidly scratched the top of his head for a few minutes. He just as quickly slowed down, taking a few quick breaths in before sitting back onto his seat.

Organizing his mind, he pinpointed three questions that seemed the most important to him.

How did I get here?

Where am I?

How good is my deck?

The first question was probably the most difficult to answer as he had absolutely no memory before getting pelted in the face with water. At least he had a couple skills, not that he knew why he had them in the first place.

The second question was a bit more easy to answer. Apparently, he was in some university named Next Turn academy. It had all the normal things any standard university with dorms would have, but it also had student rankings, card shops, and a giant colosseum used for dueling.

The third and final question was the odd one out really, but he knew how to play the game of Duel Monsters and how the game worked for some reason. He also for some reason knew that his understanding of the game was probably beyond a lot of people here. Again, It was strange to say the least.

But his deck, his deck was the most important to him right now.

So he looked.

And he didn't like what he found.

"FRICKING, WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE." Yu started, speaking in worry. " This kinda deck is used by kids in the 3rd grade that didn't get anything but booster packs!"

Yu further slumped into his seat. "Ugggggggh, what the hell do I dooooooooooooo."

He sits straight up, scratching his head again. "I mean, I guess I could buy some starter decks or something. Haa...."

"Welp, let's get started then."

After remembering he had some college class to attend via another alarm blazing through his ears and finishing for the day, he finally arrived at the only card shop in the entire campus. Some place called "Ancient Play" in the heart of the whole place, Yu tried to at least commit it to memory for the next time he had to come here.

Entering the building with a jingle of a bell, it was a pretty standard TCG Shop. Glass counters with a bunch of different rare cards inside them, white fold out tables lining the store, and multiple booster packs, starter decks, card tins, and other dueling accessories lining the shelves. Behind one of these counters, an old man was stacking and placing multiple products into different areas. The old man took a quick break from what he was doing and wiped his forehead as he sat down.

He then turned to look at Yu, surprised. "Well now, a customer! What can I do for ya?"

Yu stroked his chin as he looked around. "I was thinking of looking at the booster packs to see if I could upgrade my deck."

"I see, I see." The old man nodded before getting up again. "Welp. If you wanna buy anything, just ring the bell cause I'll be in the back cleaning up."

Yu nodded back and went to work.

"These were the most random packs I've ever seen." Yu whispered as his hands covered the back of his head while slumped over.

Sitting at one of the many tables, Yu had a couple open booster packs and a card tin open. All the cards he had gotten were something he could barely use or did their own thing and there were no online resources that told him what was in each pack. The best thing he could really do was just switch in some more earth monsters and try to jam in some spells and traps.
