A/N: This chapter is the final scene of my story. The characters are reunited for the final time. This has been such a roller coaster of emotions. It has been almost a year since I started this story. And now it's over. It was such an amazing experience. Thank you to all who have read this, and have stayed till the very end. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Ashlee

"Veronica?! Hailey?! Where are you girls?" I run quickly through the hall, desperate to get to my girls. I rush outside, my head darting around as I look for them. I heard Grace scream as I ran out of the room but I was too focused on getting to my girls. My eyes finally land on them and I let out a long breath, running towards them. Veronica sees me first and she takes off towards me, tears streaming down her face. We reach one another and I scoop her up in my arms, tears streaming down my face.

"I'm so sorry Momma. I am so so sorry that I was mad at you. I'm so sorry. I love you so much Momma." I grip the back of her head, holding her close to me.

"It's okay baby. It's okay. I understand. It's okay." Veronica continues crying as I hear Hailey crying. I look up. She is already strapped to one of the beds in an ambulance. I hold Veronica tightly to me as I run towards her. We reach the ambulance and I quickly climb in, moving to Hailey. Veronica has dislatched herself from me and is sitting on the bench next to Hailey. I wrap my arms tightly around her, letting my arms keep her body still as she sobs. I hold her for a couple of seconds before I hear some more commotion. I release Hailey, turning to see what is going on. I see EMTs carrying Joey away on a stretcher, blood seeping from his shoulder. Right behind him is Kye, who looks pissed as hell as he looks around. His eyes find mine and he starts fighting against the officer, trying to get to me. I don't react, simply watching as he gets thrown into the back of a police car. A couple of moments pass and I see Grace walking out with a female officer.

"Grace! Over here!" She sees us and she thanks the officer behind her before rushing over to us. She quickly climbs into the back of the ambulance, collapsing on the seat next to Veronica. Veronica wraps her arms around her waist, crying. Grace wraps a comforting arm around Veronica while she looks into my eyes.

"Are you okay? Did Joey run after you at all?" I shake my head, relief rushing through me.

"No. I managed to get out just fine and went to find the girls. What happened to you? I heard screams." She takes a deep breath, closing her eyes before retelling the tale.

"Well I tried to follow you out of the truck but Kye grabbed my hair and dragged me back down. I had my staff though, which I used to smack his hand and hurry out of the truck. I tried to swing at him but he quickly brought me to the ground. Joey joined the fight, dragging me up by my hair. I ended up elbowing him in the face, but before I could run they had grabbed my wrists and were holding me there. That's when the police walked in. Joey was holding me by the hair while Kye was holding onto my wrists. They managed to shoot Joey down, but Kye hadn't let go. And then, Kye's mother walks out of the crowd of officers. She was about ready to shoot him too, but he was so shocked by her appearance that he let me go. Then I got out here to you guys." I nod sympathetically, reaching out and giving her hand a squeeze. She smiles back, relief clearly swimming through her eyes. I grab one of Hailey's hands as well, not wanting her to feel alone. I sigh, relief flooding through me as well.

We did it. We survived. I'm not sure how, but we did. We survived. I close my eyes, my body relaxing. I hear a tentative tap on the ambulance door and I open my eyes, turning towards one of the EMTs. She is smiling softly at us, clearly not wanting to interrupt.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you guys. But we are going to need you guys to split up into different rigs to get you guys to the hospital. Is that okay?" I nod, turning to Grace. She already knows what the plan is. She stands up, moving past me with Veronica hot on her trail. Before she exits the vehicle she turns back to her sister. She climbs onto the bed, pressing a kiss to Hailey's cheek. I tear up, knowing that they will only ever need one another.

"I love you Hay. I will see you at the hospital." Hailey nods, tears welling in her eyes.

"I love you too Nica." With that Veronica leaves the vehicle, leaving just Hailey and I in the back with one of the EMTs. She sits on the bench across from me, clearly not wanting to intrude. I clear my throat, wanting to make the situation less awkward.

"You can start the checkups on Hailey. She needs them. The only reason we are free right now is because her health is declining." The EMT looks worried, and my words are all it took for the examination to start. I squeeze Hailey's hand, thanking God that we all survived this.

Veronica

I get into the next ambulance, tears still streaming down my face. I climb onto the bed, knowing that Grace will want me checked out first. Another female doctor climbs into the ambulance with us, a sweet smile on her face. The vehicle starts moving and I wince, not enjoying the feeling of being in the back of this. Grace squeezes my hand before directing her attention to the lady back here with us.

"Veronica. I'm sure that you are very scared right now. But it's okay. Everything is over. You are safe now. I just need to do a quick examination so that the doctors at the hospital will know what to expect. Can I do that?" I nod, holding onto Grace's hand. The lady nods and grabs out a thermometer, bringing it towards my lips. I let her take my temperature and a few other vitals, my mind on Hailey.

"Excuse me? I was wondering if you could tell me anything about my sister. She wasn't doing too well when I saw her last. I just want to make sure that she is okay." The lady nods, moving and talking into the mic pack on her shoulder. Within a couple of seconds a response is being told.

"Hailey is doing just fine. Just getting through the vital checks. Plan to check out some of her injuries." I sigh, relief flooding through my body. The lady also smiles, moving to respond.

"Same over here. Just finished vitals. Plan to check some of the injuries." I smile, knowing that this is all finally over.

You're free Veronica. Along with Hailey. And Mom. And Grace. It's over. They are never going to get you again. I smile, a tear sliding down my face. Uncle Joey got shot. Kye was in handcuffs. And I know for a fact that this is all over. There is still a long road of recovery for Hailey and I. But we will survive it. Together. Just like we have from the very beginning.
