James' Pov
Me and Sirius set off from my house to find his brother. I think he knows I fancy Regulus because he every time I look at him he gives me this look I've never seen except when I used to like Lilly. He didn't know I liked Lilly, I didn't tell anybody until about the middle of 2nd year, but I made it as obvious as I could. You see Regulus is different than Lilly, he has to stay a secret because I'm not out and I myself don't know what my sexuality is in the first place. With Lilly it was always so easy because she is a girl and nobody would look at me weird. That's not the only reason though. I'm pretty sure baby black is straight, straighter than a perfect ruler(clearly someone bent that ruler Jamie.) I mean he is a child from that horrid house but it's whatever. He wouldn't like me back anyway. (He forgot reg and Barty used to date and the fact Sirius came from the SAME house and is completely and utterly gay.(for Remus ofc)) As we are flying I see the dark mark in the sky.(the skull/face in the sky) I yell at padfoot and we both take off flying as low to the ground as we can until we land. We took the rest of the trip on foot, it was a quiet trip with little jokes here and there but me and Sirius never really talk alone. Someone is always around Remus, Lilly, Mary, Marlene, and Peter. He did an unexpected thing though... he brought up Regulus. Not in a "James we need to hurry and find my brother" kinda way, more like a "James. I know what you are. I know you fancy my dearest little brother and I am gonna kill you for it, moony can't help you out here." So I tensed up.
"JAMES!" Sirius screams quietly.
"What, huh!?" James rushed out not realizing he spaced out.
"We need to talk about reg. I think you should know something before we find him." Sirius seemed a bit off put and.. nervous?
"Um yeah ok.." James basically breathed out because of his fear of Sirius' next words.
"Reg has been in love with you since first year and I know you fancy him because of the way you look at him and try talking to him every single day, James he really loves you and he pushes you away for his reasons but if you and him get together please don't break his heart and don't make me pick between you and him because if I had to I think I would actually rather fall of the face of the earth. You two are my brothers even if you aren't by blood and I can't lose either of you. My worlds might actually crumble down and-" Sirius rushed out with tears forming.
"Sirius I do fancy him but I would never break his heart. You both mean so much to me I could never hurt either of you.(...or could he?) so stop stressing! James says while hugging Sirius(they are in the woods btw forgot to state the setting 😭)
"Ok great. I swear James if you hurt him I will rIp all your limbs one by one ok? So don't. Sirius says with a terrifying stare.
"I- yes sir... wait you just... Regulus likes me?" James finally realized after processing for about five minutes.
"Yes James he does ,now let's get back to finding him so you can confess your undying love to him!" Sirius says as dramatically as possible.
They start walking, James still shocked and they finally make it to the train station. They both go through the platform and make sure nobody follows them. (Little do they know 😜) as they walk they find a restaurant and ask around to see if anyone had seen regulus. The lady at the front desk said he worked there for about 2 days before leaving town, she told them where he stayed and sent them off, they thanked her for the help and left. They walked to the hotel and got the manager(Karen James and Sirius?!) and asked if she knew a regulus that stayed in a room. She said she did have a man named regulus stay and that he was very closed off, although he did say he was headed to London to get away from some people. The boys thanked the lady and went on their way to find a boating dock, next stop London. On their way they saw a familiar face, no not one.. two?
James pov
"Mate, don't they look familiar!" James whispered.
"Yeah, looks like..."Sirius didn't finish.
"MARLENE?! DORCAS!?" James screamed out.
"Oh hey James! how are you ya big dork and what are you guys doing here?" Marlene asks as if she isn't just on a strole in the muggle world with a slytherin. (Ok so I forgot that Harry Potter is in London, correct me if I'm wrong, so I'm just gonna say that regulus is now in Paris and NOT London 😭so they are traveling to Paris to find Reggie not London! So sorry loves!)
"We are looking for Reggie. He ran away and we wanna find him so James can confess his love to him!" Sirius explains.
"Oh Reg is in Paris, France. I can take y'all to him if you want!" Dorcas explains, she wants reg to stay safe and she wants to get her friends out of the war that is the wizarding world so this is of course the first step. Get them to Reggie and then get the others out. Then nobody has to take the mark!
"GODRIC GRYFFINDOR THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!" James and Sirius yell at the same time.
"All right gryffindorks let's go." Dorcas says and they proceed on the road to find regulus.
