December 5th (black family pov)
Whaleburger (😘) woke up at 7:00am, she noticed the house was quieter than usual and the piano was not being played. She went into regulus' room and saw he wasn't there. She walked all around the house just to not find him, when she realized the disgrace of a son's(Sirius my king🫶🏻)window was open she gave out the most blood curdling, horror packed, gut wrenching scream to ever be heard. Orion came running to her and asked what was wrong but she was so mad that she ignored him and went straight to the black family tapestry and BURNED regulus' picture from the tree. Orion tried to stop her and ask what was wrong but she threatened to hex him. She took a few hours to think of what to do. Her golden child/ heir to the black family fortune and legacy had escaped! She told Orion and they came up with an idea to get every death eater they could to hunt regulus down, they even put out an award of 100,000 dollars to whoever found him. (The black family are the richest family in this worlds au and therefore the only person they bow to is Voldemort!) they sent out the news to everyone they possibly could including the darkest wizard of them all, Voldemort. He even went looking for the boy himself(he could use the money to get a nose after all) and when he did regulus would be punished with the unforgivable curses. As the news was spread in the world of dark wizards it had also gotten to Hogwarts, some Slytherins were talking about it in the great hall at breakfast and it was only a matter of time before everyone had known Regulus Arcturus Black, the spare and now heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, was missing.
December 6th
It had only been one day since Regulus went missing and everyone in the wizarding world had known now. Sirius was of course among the last to know. The word got out and all of regulus' friends had been keeping it a secret from Sirius and the other marauders. You see before regulus left he told his friends that if he ever went missing to keep it from Sirius and Peter, he informed them of Peter being a spy for VOLDY and made sure they promised to keep it away from everyone they could. Sirius only found out because some Slytherin made a snarky comment about how reg was becoming just like his idiot brother.
