'Lana! Wait- slow down!!' I panted heavily as I ran after her.

She looked back, startled, then her face crumpled up and a tear rolled down her cheek. I stopped. My heart broke in a million pieces. How could her tears make me feel this way? I took a step forward, a gnawing feeling in my chest. She flinched and stepped away from me, her back hitting the wall. 'What do you want, Wren?' she whispered, her cheeks still wet from her tears. 'You.' I murmured and looked at her perfectly glossed lips. Her eyes widened.

'I saw you with Jules, though. You guys looked-' She bit her lip. 'Intimate.' she finished. My eyes broke away from her lips to look at her face. She was so goddamn beautiful that it hurt.

'We are nothing but...Friends. I promise.'

She lowered her head.

'Oh. I- I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. I'm sorry.'

I wiped a tear off her smooth skin. 'I'm not' I said, and then tilted her chin up to face me. Her eyes glazed as I pulled her closer in.

A heartbeat. That was all the time it took for me to place my lips on hers, Her body shuddering in return.

She brought her hand up into my hair and I pinned her to the wall, my heart beating so fast I was afraid she could hear it.

My eyelids fluttered as she pushed me down to the floor, landing on top of me once again. we shared a smile, both remembering. She pressed her lips on mine again, closing her eyes.

This. This is what I missed for so, so long. She let out a whimper as I let go of her. She stood there, looking up at me beneath those thick caramel eyelashes, her lips still moist from the kiss. I took a piece of her hair and curled it around my finger. She was so perfect.

As perfect as...

Elise. Yeah, the girl you loved for YEARS. The one who DIED, Wren. How can you even think about anyone else? You disgust me.

'Wren? Are you okay?' Lana's sweet voice called out. I could barely hear her, a fuzzy sound in my ears. I dropped my head.

'i'm sorry' I whispered, and gently pushed her off me. She sat there on the floor, fingers touching her lips, looking as confused as I felt. I took one last glance at her,

and then walked away.

I think I heard her calling out my name, but it must've been my imagination.
