The three of you walked around, observing the bustling activity as people set up for the festivities. Passing by a stand, Mizu halted and examined the items the seller had displayed. She selected a silver bell, paid for it, and wrapped it around Ringo's foot. Now, she would always know when Ringo was nearby.

"I will use this time to train," Mizu declared as the two of you followed behind, the sound of Ringo's new bell ringing with every step he took.

"Train? Arent you good enough master?" Ringo asked before Mizu shot him a glare.

"No fun for the samurai. Fun is bad," Ringo commented, carefully nudging your side, and you firmly nodded, agreeing with him.

"I'll set up camp on the eastern cliffs," Mizu paused, turning around to meet your gaze briefly before looking back at Ringo. "Ringo, y/n, you two should stay here and have fun."

"Uh-uh, an apprentice would never leave his master's side. Right, y/n?" Ringo said, placing his hands on his sides, leaving you standing there. While you did want to stay back and enjoy the festivities, there was a part of you that simply wanted to be with Mizu for as long as possible. You considered leaving Ringo to make his decision, but he continued speaking.

"Just a little fun. Then tomorrow..." he trailed off, and you nodded.

Mizu let out a tired sigh before looking back at you. "What about you, y/n?" she asked, making eye contact with you before you rummaged to pull out paper.

'I'll stay with Ringo, to make sure he doesn't wander off.' Most of what you wrote was a lie; you wanted to go with Mizu, but something inside you told you to stay put. She quickly read it, handed you back the paper, and responded with a simple 'okay' before leaving. You stayed put, watching as she headed to the cliffs. Your sadness was soon replaced by Ringo, who returned with some festive toys, telling you to follow him around.

The two of you walked around, stopping to watch most of the performances. Eventually, you parted ways to find a place to eat. Although there were various options, you followed your nose to another soba tavern. Upon sliding the door open, you were immediately greeted by a server. The dimly lit room smelled strongly of soba, making you want to devour all the food at that moment.

"How many, miss?" the server asked, and you held up your index finger.

"One? Follow me, please, miss," he said, bringing you over to a table. You kneeled down as you were served some tea. Glancing around, you observed the crowded place with live music performing a few feet away. It was warm inside, unlike most other taverns you had been to. You sighed, taking in everything around you. Closing your eyes, you felt relaxed for a moment before the scent of fresh soba filled your nose again. Opening your eyes, you found a fresh bowl of soba right in front of you. 'Mizu would like this, maybe i'll take her here' you thought

You quickly ate it all, leaving nothing in the bowl as the server returned to collect it. Opening your bag to leave money, you left the tavern and stepped back into the cold. However, upon reaching the main part of the town, you noticed everyone was gone. Even the people from the once-crowded tavern were now spilling outside. Thinking that if there was a big crowd, Ringo had to be there, you decided to follow them. However, they began taking off their clothes. Gasping, you covered your eyes and turned the other way. Still keeping a hand over your eyes, you walked far enough to the empty streets before feeling your face heat up from embarrassment.

Your ears suddenly picked up the sounds of loud drums. You remembered this; it was the signal for the Hadaka Matsuri. Deciding to head to the harbor, as that's where you saw a lot of people last, you found only everyone was now naked and running towards the water. Your jaw dropped as you turned around, again covering your face with both hands this time. It wasn't pleasant to see all these strange people suddenly undress right in front of you.

The sound of everyone jumping into the water caused you to look back up since now everyone was underwater. Still filled with curiosity, you decided to see where they were going. But it seemed as if everyone turned into some kind of animal in the water, all fighting to grab something under the water. You tried squinting your eyes, but that only made it worse since now you could see their naked bodies even more. Looking away, still embarrassed, from the corner of your eye, you saw someone who resembled Ringo so well, pop up from the bottom holding a stick in his mouth.

You caught up with Ringo once he had his pants on again and found him ecstatic.

'What happened?' you held up a card as you slightly raised your eyebrow.

"I won a magic stick! Supposedly, my wish is supposed to come true," he said, taking the stick out of his mouth. You hummed, looking at the stick, then back at Ringo, who began walking. You followed as the two of you made your way to the beach. You could hear the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore, and the sun was just setting, making the sky turn a dark purple and pink color. Looking around, you saw a man standing over someone's body in the distance. You're not one for seeing people fight, but it didn't seem like they were fighting anymore. The man sheathed his sword, bending down over the person's body. It took you a second, but once you saw the familiar clothing on the person's body, you realized who it was.

You dropped everything you had onto the sand and took off running. The man didn't hear you as you came up from behind and shoved him off Mizu and onto the sand. You held the man down as Ringo came from behind, as you could hear the sound of the bell ringing. "What did you do to our master!?" Ringo said as you looked off to the side to see Mizu lying on the sand unconscious, with blood staining the sand beneath her a dark red.

"Not me, not me! The Fang," he said, and you shoved yourself off him and went over to Mizu's side with Ringo right behind you.

You crouched down and grabbed her wrist to find a pulse. You let out a sigh of relief when you felt a small pulse coming from her. Brushing off the sand on her face, you motioned for Ringo to pick her up as you grabbed her sword off the ground. You stayed close to Ringo as you very tightly held onto her hand while the two of you walked with the man to where he said a shrine was. You didn't want to believe the man, but you needed to take Mizu to some place more sanitary to help take care of her wounds. As night came upon them, they reached the shrine where the man had said they'd be.

You kept an eye on Mizu the whole time and saw her slightly opening her eyes, but then they would quickly shut again. Once they reached the shrine, Ringo placed Mizu down on the cot, and you quickly began to work on her, making sure that the two weren't looking. You took off her clothes to find the open wounds and made sure to stitch her up. Once she was done, you took a clean rag and dipped it into some cold water, carefully dabbing her face to remove the dried blood. As you finished cleaning her face you brushed her hair out from her face and tucked the loose strand behind her ear as you kept your gaze on her sleeping silhouette. You sat at her side, taking her hand into yours, waiting for Ringo to finish up some medicine. You didn't notice Mizu very weakly squeezing your hand the whole time as you stitched her up.
