From the very beginning I was taught survival. Before my parents went beyond insane they taught me that the only thing that matters is to survive. So that what I do. Survive.
In a world that has been infested by people who have caught the Flare, it's a bit hard to survive on my own. The Flare is a disease that slowly eats your brain away, causing you to lose any rational thoughts, slowly driving you to madness. It's a terrible disease that has wiped out most of the Earth's population or at least made most of the population insane hungry freaks called Cranks. The Flare was caused by sun flares reaching Earth and scorching the world, spreading a disease with it.
The Flare is what caused my parents to go insane and kill each other. I have no family. No friends. No one but myself. I've been living on my own for years now in a place crawling with Cranks, I think I can finally feel the symptoms of the Flare slowly setting in. I'm feel like I'm slowly disappearing from sanity.
