Chapter 9

Just letting you know, because I'm very behind in doing specials, I'll do either do a special when I have 400 reads or 500. I'll let you guys decide! Comment what you want me to do!

Sophie stared out the window. She watched the scenery fly by her. Its funny how everything can suddenly...change. Sophie thought, as she watched a flat stretch of land turn into mountains that reached for the sky.

Sophie's new phone buzzed. (I guess she got a new one?) She took it out and pressed a video link Biana had sent her.

The video said: "latest couples and drama at Foxfire high! The last one will shock you!!"
Then it went on and on about random couples, none of which Sophie knew. Then it got to the last one. It showed Keefe and sophie in the cafeteria, sophie getting into Keefe's car, then walking together, sitting together, etc, etc, etc.

Sophie was paralysed. Her eyes bulged out, she could hardly believe what she was seeing. It hadn't even been that long since they left school! How did they have time to make this?! How did they manage to get so much videos and pictures of them?! Although, she had to admit, it really did look like they were a couple!

Sophie glanced at the icon which showed how many people had seen it. It was going viral!! The likes were practically bursting! She opened the comments. That was blowing up too! Things like 'Keefe likes that little quiet girl?!'
and 'woah! I don't ship them!' met Sophie's eyes. Everyone...was saying very negative things about Keefe's and Sophie's relationship..

Sophie felt tears well up in her eyes. She didn't feel like being...in here. Going to the hospital. With Keefe. What if someone from their school saw them together? What if they recorded them? What if they...made fun of them? What if they became a meme or something? The 'what if's' never seemed to end. Sophie had been a meme before. Those were always tough times at school.

Eventually, her thoughts spiralled out of control. "K-Keefe, could you drop me off here? I..I'll walk the rest." She said.

Seeing the tears that were fighting to get out of Sophie's eyes, Keefe pulled over without a word. Sophie grabbed her bag and got out the car. Keefe drove away.

Sophie silently walked, tears dripping down her face. She didn't know where she was going. She would figure that out later. Right now, she just walked. And walked. And....

Didn't look both ways.

The fast sports car sped around the corner, the driver clearly not paying any attention to his surroundings. The last thing sophie saw was a flash of red.

A scream echoed in her head. Was it her own? Sophie couldn't remember screaming. When the car finally hit, (time seemed so slow) Sophie blacked out.

Sophie's mind shifted. Someone was...calling out something. To her? She could barely remember her name. "Wake up! Please!!" The voice sounded...strangely familiar. It also sounded desperate. For...what? Sophie had forgotten.. "Come on!! Please wake up!!"

Oh. That was it. To wake up. Sophie groaned and slowly opened her aching eyelids. It was so dark outside. Wait...where was she? Why was she outside??? All she remembered was a red flash and a scream.

"Y-you're awake!!" Sophie looked at the person. A blonde haired boy stared back at her with frightened ice blue eyes. Noticing her confusion, he said; "do you know my name?"

Sophie blinked, trying to remember. She knew this person. His name was at the tip of her tongue. "K-keeeey?" She tried. The boy sighed.
"Your name?" He asked.

Sophie thought hard. She had to get this right! "S-Sophia?"

The boys phone rang. He answered. "Hey, Biana....yeah, I got her. ...yes, I think so too. Her leg looks broken. ...I'll call an ambulance. Meet me at the hospital." He said into the phone. He ended the call.

Suddenly, everything came rushing back. "Keefe!" Sophie gasped. Keefe looked at her in surprise. "You remember! What happened?"

Sophie found it hard to talk. She was still lying on the road. "C-car.." she managed to say.
Keefe sighed. "Why didn't you look?"

Now Sophie was angry and frustrated. She couldn't walk, talk, and it hadn't been her fault! The car had sped around the corner! The driver wasn't even looking! Although...she could've been a little more careful. As Keefe picked her up, moving her off the road, she looked around for the red sports car. It was nowhere in sight. Sophie growled. It had been hit and run.

After Keefe had called the ambulance, he sat down next to Sophie on the pathway.
"Sophie...can I ask you a question?" He asked, glancing at Sophie in a worrisome way.
Sophie nodded.

"Why...did you run away? Well, ask me to stop, when you didn't go to the hospital?"

Sophie swallowed nervously. She managed to hold her hand out. "Ph-phone."
Keefe handed her his phone.

With the help of Keefe, Sophie managed to pull up the video. Keefe watched it. Sophie looked down. She didn't want to see Keefe's face when he saw the bit with them in it...
What would he do? Would he be angry? Hurt?

"Sophie..." Keefe said, once the video had ended. "I...I really like you, Sophie."

Sophie gulped. She still didn't dare look up. What did he mean he likes her? Likes her as a friend? Or...

No.

Keefe would never like her as...more. She knew it. It was obvious. He was...fun, sporty, and outgoing. She was...shy, nerdy, and too scared to do anything new. They were complete opposites! They were lucky they were friends!

"Like, like like." He said, looking at Sophie.
Sophie couldn't believe what she was hearing. Keefe...liked her?

When she still didn't look at him, Keefe sighed. "You...don't like me, do you?"
Sophie took a deep breath. She had to do this.

Looking him straight in the eye, she said; "Keefe, I...don't like you." She said. Keefe's eyes looked disappointed.

"I love you!" She said, then, she kissed him. And he kissed back.
Their breath went perfectly into sync. The kiss was soft, and that made it comforting. Nice. Perfect. It was now that Sophie realised...opposites attract. It was perfect. They were perfect.

The kiss went on for a while, until they heard sirens in the distance. "Sophie, I love you. Will you be my girlfriend?" Keefe asked, as the ambulance went round the corner, heading towards them.

"Keefe...yes!! I will!" Sophie cried, and hugged him. Soon after, they were on the ambulance going to the hospital, Sophie's hand in Keefe's the whole way.

This is definitely the best chapter I've done so far!! What do you guys think?! It's also the longest chapter I've done too! Hope you all enjoyed it too!!!
