Peter and I kiss one last time and the world seems to spin again. We're both partially naked in the same position, breathing heavily. I heard losing your virginity hurt but, it didn't hurt that much for me. It did for a second and Peter stopped until I was okay.
"I'm sorry Opal." I run my hand through Peter's hair.
"It's fine Peter. Mistakes happen." Peter sets me down lightly and we both get dressed and fix ourselves.
"I shouldn't have done that." Peter says buttoning up his shirt. I hug him tightly.
"We were both in a bad place Peter. Both of us are to blame." Peter shook his head.
"I took advantage of you. I'm should be old enough to know not to do that."
"Peter stop. It's both of our faults."
"We can't tell anyone, Opal." I pull away from the hug. "We can't tell anyone this happened." I nod.
"I agree actually. Under no circumstances." Peter nods and turns to walk away. "Peter?" He looks back at me and I bite my lip. "Thank you though." He gives me a confused look. "If I was to lose my virginity to anyone, I'm happy it was with you. You're one of my best friends Peter." I exhale. "And it was a mistake but I don't regret it. I had this experience with one of my best friends and not some guy. So thank you." Peter smiles lightly.
"Remember, tell no one though." I smile and nod. He walks away but I hear him tell back. "Love you Opal." I smile and yell it back.
"Love you too." I lean against the tree and sigh. I grab my bag and pull out my cell phone. I have a few missed calls from Art. I bite my lip and call him.
'Opal! Why weren't you answering my calls?!'
"I told you something came up, but I'll tell you about it later. Can we meet up?" The line is silent for a second.
'You'll tell me later?' I scrunch my eyebrows together in confusion.
"Yeah... Are you okay Art?" Another moment of silence.
'Yeah...'
"So?"
'Umm. Yeah, I'll meet you. Where?'
"The river?"
'Okay.'
"Okay. I'll see you soon." I end the call and start walking to the river.
~~~
I climb the fence and plop to the other side with no hassle. I've gotten used to climbing this fence, well... All fences now... I walk to the riverbank and see Art sitting on the rocks. "Hi."
"Hey." He says looking up at me.
"Are you okay? You seemed a bit off on the phone."
"No I'm okay now." I smile and sit beside him.
"Good." I set my bag down. "I wanted to-" before I could finish my sentence I feel Arts lips on mine. I kiss back eagerly and scoot closer to him. I want to keep kissing him but he pulls away.
"You wanted to what?" I blush.
"Oh, um..." I shake my head to remember what I was going to say. I bite my lip as soon as I remember. "I know about Jess." Art stiffens up.
"Leave." My heart breaks.
"Art."
"Leave!" I hold back my tears. I grab my bag and laugh sarcastically.
"I was gonna say I don't care what happened between you and her because it's you and me now. And I trust you." He looks up at me and now I'm crying. I swallow hard. "I was willing to overlook that to be with you." I wipe my tears and start to walk away.
"Opal."
"No Art." I stop in my tracks. "I knew the risks of me telling you this but I decided to anyway... And you made your choice to push me away...." I start walking again and the tears fall harder. "You won't have to worry about me anymore." I climb the fence again and when I reach the other side Art slams into the fence.
"Opal please."
"No Art." I reach between the chain fence and touch his arm. "You said I was different, so you should have known deep down that I'd care about you despite your past." I pull my hand away. "Bye Art." I turn away and start walking back home.
When I reach the road a car pulls up. "Hey Opal!" I smile lightly.
"Hey Tyga."
"What's wrong? Have you been crying?" I laugh lightly.
"A bit yeah."
"You wanna get in and talk about it? I can also just take you home if you want." I smile and nod.
"Just a ride for now. But I would wanna talk about it later."
"Alright well hop in and give me your number so when you are ready to talk you got me." I open the car door and get in.
"Thanks Tyga."
"No worries." She hands me her phone and I type in my number.
"There you go." I send a message to myself and I save her number into my phone.
"Awesome." I exhale slowly. After a few minutes and when we reach my house I turn to Tyga.
"Tyga can I ask you a personal question?"
"Sure." She parks in front of my house and looks over at me.
"If you cared about someone, but they kept pushing you away, what do you do?" Tyga nods slowly.
"Well, I'd stay away." I raise an eyebrow, "not forever though. But until they realize I care about them and that they want me to stay away, I'll stay away until they want me back. But if it keeps happening, I'd stay away for good." I nod. "Thing is Opal," she adjusts her sitting position, "no matter how much you care about a person, if they keep pushing you away, you need to eventually stay away. Because soon the person you care about will be the person that breaks your heart." I swallow hard.
"What's if I've already reached that point?" Tyga bites her lip.
"You have a choice then... Another second chance... Or move on." I nod slowly.
"Thanks Tyga."
"Anytime girl." I open the car door and step out.
"Thanks for the ride."
"No problem! I'll see you around." I close the car door and wave goodbye. I walk back into my house and see Asia sitting on the couch.
"Asia are you okay?" She nods.
"Frankie and Peter are talking." I nod. "Is he giving you guys a second chance?" Asia shrugs. I walk upstairs and open the door to see Frankie and Peter kissing. I stop in my tracks and Frankie pulls away.
"See man! Kissing doesn't mean anything to me." Frankie and Peter turn to me when I finally clear my throat. "Umm."
"Secrets safe with me. I just needed to put my bag away." I set my bag on my desk and clear my throat again. "Do you guys wanna stay for dinner? I'm about to cook."
"Dinner sounds nice." Peter finally speaks.
"Frankie?"
"Only if Peter forgives me."
"After that kiss? Hell yeah." I laugh and so does Peter. Frankie relaxes and laughs with us. "I just need to talk to Asia for a second. Do you guys mind?" I shake my head.
"Frankie can help me cook."
"Frankie does what?" He asks as I pull him out of the room. I push Frankie into the kitchen and turn to Asia.
"Peter wants to talk to you." Asia stands up quickly and runs up the stairs. I turn to Frankie and am met with a kiss. When he pulls away I stand shocked. "Um, hi."
"Now I've kissed all my friends." He turns away with a smile and I can't help but laugh.
"Just help me cook spaghetti for 6."
