"Later guys." I say as Peter and I make our way to the other side of the school for our dance class. "I'm so excited! How does the class work?"

"Well this is the first semester so we are doing one new dance style per two weeks. The the next semester, we're going to have to create a solo dance, a duo, a group and then the whole class dance." I bite my lip.

"That sounds like a lot of work." Peter laughs.

"It is but don't worry, you'll do fine with me as your partner." We get to the room and Peter holds the door open for me. I walk in and see everyone stretching and talking and I can't help but smile. "Don't stare at the wrong people Opal." I look down at the ground and clear my throat. Peter laughs and pulls me to the back corner of the room where there is a door. He's just about to knock when Mr. Boldin opens it making me jump back slightly.

"Peter." He says with a smile.

"Mr. B. This is Opal." I smile and hold out my hand.

"The new student. Alright. Umm-" He looks up among the crowd of students and I inspect the sleeve tattoos he has. There was one in particular that I liked, it was of a flute blowing out hearts in the shapes of notes. "Grace can you get Opal here some clothes?"

"Sure thing Mr. B." A girl with spider bite piercings and pink hair walks up to me with a smile.

"Excellent. Everyone else get ready." Mr. Boldin pats my shoulder with a smile, "Just because you're new, I'll go easy on you for your first class." He wink and walks away and I can't help but laugh. Grace grabs my arm and pulls me into the room, it's actually a lot bigger than I thought. It had different types of clothes of all sizes.

"What's your size?"

"I'm a 14." Grace raises her eyebrows.

"Really? You don't look it. You look hella skinny." I can help but blush.

"Thanks." She chuckles and walks to the far end.

"This week we're working on Salsa. Mr. B will get you a schedule after class." She grabs me a pretty pink dress with a smile. "Shoe size?"

"7." She kneels down and looks through the shoes.

"Mr. B is actually really cool so I would appreciate it if you could respect him."

"Of course. He seems like a really nice guy."

"He is." She stands up and hands me low silver heels. "He's the only one who was like us at one time."

"Like us? You mean he was a delinquent?" Grace raises her eyebrows. "Sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound offensive."

"No it wasn't. You're too sweet looking to be a delinquent."

"Oh. I'm not. I'm here because of the art programs." Grace nods.

"Makes sense. But yeah, Mr. B was a gang member for years. He got out after he was shot right near his spine. It took him forever to heal but he quit because he did enjoy dancing. The gang almost taking away what he loved made him change his path." I smile lightly.

"That's really nice." She nods and points behind her.

"You know how to get out right?" I nod. "Okay. I'll tell him you're changing." She turns around and walks away. "It's nice to meet you Opal." I smile wide.

"You too Grace." She nods and walks away. I quickly change and realize this dress is really form fitting. I've never been confident with my body but I suppose it's just for this one class. Next time I'll bring my own from home or choose one myself.
