Hour 8
(2:00 PM EST)
When the cupcakes were done and iced Beckett and I grabbed one before saying bye to my sister and heading on our next adventure. I checked our list and the next thing that we had planned to do was go buy spray paint and paint our initials together on a wall. "Off to the craft store it is!" I announced, pointing ahead. Beckett pulled out of my driveway and drove to the closest Michaels craft store.
"What color spray paint should we get?"
"Neon yellow!" I exclaimed.
"Why am I not surprised." He shook his head.
"Or electric blue!" I was really excited. I loved the way spray paint looked.
"Or both." He said.
"Yes! Both!" I was way too happy about spray paint. "Where are we going to spray paint?"
"I've seen this alley where a lot of graffiti is done." He replied.
"I'm so excited!" I bounced up and down in my seat. "I've never done this before though, so it could end up looking really bad."
"Me too." He said.
"I bet it's just going to end up looking like a big blob of bright colors." I laughed, knowing the chances were very high. "We should look up a Youtube video on how to spray paint." I said.
"Screw tutorials, lets just wing it."
"It's going to be the ugliest graffiti on that wall."
"Who cares, as long as we know what it says it doesn't matter what it looks like." He told me.
"How come you always say the truest things?" I asked him.
"I took a class." He smirked. "How to talk 101." He laughed.
"You did not." I giggled. He didn't respond. "Wait.." I said. He started blushing. "You're not joking are you?" His face grew bright red. "You're so cute." I gushed.
"I only took one class but yeah, it's true." He wiped his face with is hands, trying to stop the blushing. "I didn't want to sound stupid on our first date."
"AWW. You're too cute." I exclaimed. We pulled into Michael's parking lot. We both got out and walked into the store. Once we were in we checked down every Aisle looking for the spray paint.
"Harlyn, I think I found it." Beckett told me. I followed his voice and found myself in the aisle full of masks. Beckett had a lady bug foam mask on. I found an elephant one and put it on. I took the trunk and waved it in his face. "What's with the elephants eyes?" Beckett pointed out. I took off the mask and the eyes were cross eyed. I began cracking up. "Shhh." He shushed me.
I whacked him with the mask before saying, "We need to get back on track." I left the mask aisle and began looking down more aisles.
"Har." Beckett whispered."What?" I asked. he came down the aisle with a bowa around his neck and one draped around his arm. "Ma lady." He bowed as he placed the bowa over my neck. "Would you like a drink." He said in a terrible british accent.
"I will take a glass of bubbly champagne." I replied, playing with my bowa.
"Sorry we only have water." He responded.
"Well I'll have a glass of your finest water."
"So you want tap water?" He asked.
'Yes." I said dramatically it made us burst out laughing. I quickly had to cover mine and Beckett's mouth so we didn't get in trouble. "We just need to find the spray paint and then get out of here, because it has proven very deadly. We can't even get spray paint without getting distracted."
After a while of searching we found the spray paint. There wasn't many color options but there was neon yellow. I looked for electric blue but they didn't have it so we got neon green instead. When we went to pay there was candy at the cash register so Beckett and I naturally bought a lot of it.
"Now, off to the alley where we shall spray paint our love for the whole state of Florida." I announced, as we got into the car.
"Shall?"
"Yes, shall." I nodded. "Do I sound professional?"
"No, you just seem out of place." I gasped and playfully gave him a hit on the arm.
We made our way to the alley and parked a few blocks down. When we got to the wall we pulled the paint cans out of the plastic bag and shook the cans. Beckett went first painting his initials, BA in neon green and the I painted the plus sign and my initials HS in neon yellow. Then Beckett and I painted the heart around our initials with neon green. "Perfect." I smiled as we took a step back and looked at our lopsided heart.
Beckett took out his camera and we turned our backs to the wall and took a picture with our initials and heart.
"Well I guess it's official we're in love." Beckett picked me up and spun me around.
"Madly." I grinned.
