Hour 18

(12:00 AM EST)

"It's twelve o'clock." I whispered softly to Beckett, who was half asleep.

"Already?" Beckett asked back, sounding tired.

"Come on Beckett, we only a a few hours left together." I shook Beckett's arm.

"Can we just take a quick nap?" Beckett said sweetly. "I'm going to pass out during our activities if I don't get some sleep."

"Ok, princess." I joked. "We can take a power nap." I said. "But we have to make it to the fireworks on time."

"Ok." Beckett replied dozing off into a deep sleep.

Before he could get really comfortable I climbed onto the couch and laid down next to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and we fell asleep.

Twenty minutes later I woke up and shook Beckett to get up. His eyes fluttered opened and a yawn bursted from his mouth. "Is it already time?" Beckett asked. I nodded.

"C'mon." I gestured to the door with my head.

"Kay." He gave me a weak smile before getting up off the couch and stretching.

We grabbed our things and made our way towards Beckett's car. "Are you excited for the fireworks?" I grinned, opening up the car door.

"Yup."

"I haven't seen them since I was like ten."

"Same." Beckett started the car and we were off.

The whole ride mine and Beckett's hands were intertwined. "I'm going to miss these types of dates."

"Me too." Beckett said softly. "But we'll get to have them again when we come back home for break."

"Yeah." I nodded, trying to stay positive. "Or when we visit each other." Beckett turned his head and gave me a grin and I copied.

"I wish I could look at you for the whole ride, but I have to drive." Beckett told me as he turned his attention back to the road.

"Good idea." I said.

"Hey," Beckett began. "when we come back for break, we should have another twenty-four hour date."

"But with different activities." I added.

"And each year it just gets better."

"Deal." I replied. "Let's just hope we live up to the expectations we are putting out there." I laughed. "What if we just ended up sleeping for twenty-four hours?"

"Um, that would be amazing!"

"For you."

"Yeah, it would." Beckett began to dream.

"Don't worry you'll get your naps." I told him.

We finally made it to the beach where the fireworks were going to go off. We grabbed the blankets from the back seat along with all our snacks in a tote bag. I slung the tote bag over my shoulder and Beckett carried the blankets. We made our way down to the sand, finding a good spot to watch the fireworks at. I dropped the bag and helped Beckett lay down the blankets. When everything was set up we sat down and got cuddled up in the last few blankets.

"What do you want?" I grabbed the bag and showed it to Beckett.

"Popcorn please." He said. I grabbed the bag of popcorn and handed it to him and picking out a bag of gummy bears for me. "Oooo..can I have some of those?" Beckett eyed my gummies.

"Nope." I teased, hiding the bag under my arm.

"Ok." Beckett said, going back to his popcorn. And then out of nowhere he dropped his bag of popcorn and began tickling me.

"Beckett, stop." I giggled. "I love you." I tried to stop him.

"Love you too." He gave me a quick kiss. "But that's not enough." He continued tickling me. I was laughing uncontrollably as the fireworks began.

"Fine." I said, holding the bag out towards him.

"Thank ya." He picked out most of the green gummies, his favorite.

Once we got our snack situation figured out I laid my head onto Beckett's lap to watch the fireworks. The fireworks that exploded in the sky reminded me that even though Beckett and I were going to be far away from each other, didn't mean our relationship would lessen.

After ten minutes the fireworks had finished. Beckett and I stayed on the beach, wrapped up in our blankets and watched the stars.

"Is that the big dipper?" I asked Beckett, pointing to a specific spot in the sky.

"Yeah." He replied. "And that one over there is Orion."

"I didn't know they had a constellation that looked like you?" I laughed, pointing to a weird shaped constellation.

"I didn't know that either." Beckett played along. "They did quite a good job." He joked. "That one looks like you." Beckett pointed to a really small one.

"Hey!" I gently wacked Beckett. "I'm not tiny! I'm average."

"Yes, yes, you are." He patted me on the head.

"You're such the comedian." I sarcastically said.

"Thanks." He smiled. "You're cute." We looked each other in the eye, staying there for what felt like a long time.

"You're pretty cute too." Beckett placed his hands under his chin and batted his eyes. "Wait, let me take a picture of this." I told Beckett. "Hold your pose." I grabbed the camera out of the bag. I turned it around so that it could get both Beckett and me in the picture and then clicked the button. The picture came out of the polaroid, we both ended up looking like a mess.

"My hair!" I laughed, pointing to my hair that stuck up in different places.

"I didn't know you were related to Einstein." Beckett joked.

"Look at you Beckett."

"I look like I'm five." He laughed.

"Who knew a five year old and Einstein's relatives would ever date."

"The world is filled with some crazy people these day."

"Yup." I agreed. "Just a bunch of weirdos." I flashed Beckett a smile before he wrapped me up in his arms and we both layed down, listening to the sound of the waves crash a few meters away.
