On the walk to the auditorium, all you could think of was that you shouldn't have done that. You shouldn't have called them. You know he's mad at you because of it and you feel so guilty. But it was the right thing to do. No, this game is not for the faint-hearted.

"The reason we gathered everyone," Jun Hee announced. "Isn't to choose who to vote for. It's to convince you not to vote at all."

You were all gathered in a circle, you sitting beside Na Hee on chairs that you found in the storage room.

"If we vote, someone will die, no matter what." Jun Hee said. "But if no one votes, everyone can live."

"What if someone votes after we all agreed not to?" Mi Na asks, "What happens then?"

"We'll have to make everyone trust each other." Jun Hee says, "We can collect all the phones so no one can vote."

"Who's going to manage the phones?" Ji Soo asked, " What if they change their minds?" So many questions.

"Yeah, what if someone steals them?" Mi Na adds on. "I don't want to. I'm not handing mine in."

Everyone starts protesting until Kyung Jun speaks up, "You guys are fucking noisy." You bite your cheek. "Class President is saying something right for fucking once."

"Why aren't you all cooperating?" He questions, "You need to hand your phone in so no one can vote. Everyone better hand their phone in."

He turns to Hyun Ho, "You better listen while I'm nice."

He goes around, collecting every phone. Once he gets to you, you look to his eyes, searching for something, anything. But he keeps his eyes on the bucket, "Hurry up, we're running out of time." You drop your phone in.

It's been what felt like maybe half an hour. Your eyes stay on the bucket placed in the middle the whole time. You feel a pair of eyes burning into the back of your head the whole time.

"One minute left until voting ends."

"Seriously, fuck!" Seung Bin curses, "Hey, Class President! Are you sure this is okay?"

"Let's wait for now," Jun Hee says, "It's not even midnight yet."

"Hey! It's past midnight and there's no announcement!" Woo Ram says. And you let out a breath you didn't know you've been holding. Did it work?

"Participants must vote to track down the mafia."

You freeze. Of course, it was too good to be true.

A classmate of yours walks to the bucket, getting stopped by Hyun Ho, "Hey! What are you doing?"

"What do you think? If I don't do anything and die, will you take responsibility?" she says.

"She's right." Mi Na agreed.

As she turns back to her position, a body plummets to the ground before her. You all gasp. And as Mi Na falls to the ground in shock, a body falls atop the first one.

"Lee Soo Bin and Park Ji Hoon will be executed for violating the rules."

"Lee Soo Bin and Park Ji Hoon were civilians."

"Participants must vote to track down the mafia."

"We need to vote! We'll die if we abstain!" Someone screams.

Your feet are moving on their own, moving until you find yourself on crawling on the ground, hands searching the floor, heartbeats quickening by the second.

"Oh Jin Seo will be executed for violating the rules." Suddenly, the lights are out and are replaced by blinding red ones.

Execution after execution, you cant take it anymore. Every phone you take a hold of isn't yours, you think you've opened at least a dozen by now, yet you still can't find your own.

"Oh Jin Seo was a civilian."

The mere thought of dying right then and there, accompanied by the fact that Kyung Jun being mad at you might be the last moment you share together, has you tearing up.

You pick up another phone. The case is different but you open it anyway. The wallpaper is of someone else. You're slowly losing hope.

Everything is crashing down, you're full on sobbing now, heart thumping so loud you can't hear the voice calling out to you until you're pulled up by your shirt.

You see Kyung Jun and in his hand you see your phone. You hug him, so tightly, you could feel him tense up in your arms as you cried into his chest. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for telling on you. I was scared. I didn't know what to do. Please forgive me, I'll—"

"Hey, that doesn't matter right now, you need to vote. I have your phone." He pushes you away but holds onto your shoulders as you shakily press the first person you see on screen.

You're still sobbing, but not for the same reason. You go to hug him again, whispering a quiet, "Thank you."

He pulls you out of the hug and you're confused, what's wrong this time? You look up and find that he's already looking at you, this time with a gentle look on his face.

He lightly places a palm on your cheek and leans in. Your lips brushing together, tentatively, for the first time. His lips were soft, almost silken against your own. It felt like a weight had been taken off your shoulders.
