"I had no choice." So Mi's voice trembled as she spoke. "I just wanted to survive. Why?" Don't we all?

"I didn't want to become the freaking mafia either." she screamed with fury.

"Does it not matter as long as you survive?" Eun Chan grabbed her by the collar. "What about us? Do we deserve to die? Do we?"

"I didn't kill anyone." she shook her head. "The other guys killed them. What happened to Se Eun has nothing to do with me."

"Hey." Yoon Seo spoke up. "Don't use Se Eun for your own sake. You don't deserve to do that."

"Who are you to say that?" So Mi shoves her back, but Yoon Seo's determined to prove her point and remained resolute.

"No one believes you now."

In a fit of fury, So Mi pushed her back again, only to be stopped by Jung Won. "Enough."

She takes a few steps back, her eyes darting around as she fights to contain her tears. Then, unable to hold them back any longer, they begin to spill down her cheeks. She rushes to Jun Hee, pleading for his help.

"Jun Hee. Save me. Please." she implored, grasping his hand in desperation.

He withdrew his hand with a blank expression. "Take responsibility as you said." he replied, bringing his phone out.

"Kim Jun Hee has voted for Kim So Mi."

"No. No. Hold on."

"Ahn Na Hee has voted for Kim So Mi."

"Don't vote. Please."

"Y/N has voted for Kim So Mi."

"Give me the phone." she demanded, lunging for Mi Na's phone.

"Im Eun Chan has voted for Kim So Mi."

Da Beom shoves her to the ground. "Just stop."

After a few moments with her face pointed to the ground, she started laughing. "You're all fooled." she taunted, looking up with a twisted smile. "Do you know who the mafias are?"

As she tried to speak further, her words get caught in her throat. She clutched at her neck, and started gagging violently. Suddenly, she puked out blood.

"You can't reveal the identities of other mafia to citizens."

"Darn it." Kyung Jun muttered, looking down at her with a mix of frustration and apathy. "You're doing all sorts of things."

"Hey." he called out. "Just die."

"Go Kyung Jun has voted for Kim So Mi."

Crawling over to Yoon Seo, she pleaded silently. "Why did you do that?" the girl asked with disdain. "You brought it on yourself."

"Lee Yoon Seo has voted for Kim So Mi."

"We need to hide. Let's go." Kyung Jun urged and grabbed your arm. He led you to the cafeteria, but you stopped at the doorway.

"Wait. There's something I have to do." you remembered.

"What? No. It's almost midnight, it's too risky." he warned. "Leave it for tomorrow. Come inside."

You look at him with a pleading gaze. "I'm sorry. I can't. I'll see you tomorrow, I promise." you said, walking over to him and hugging him tightly. Who knew if you'd even see him tomorrow.

"I know..." Na Hee began. "both your identities."

"I didn't know who to trust. So I called both of you only." she explained.

"The mafias will come to kill me first. Help me find out who they are. Just like how Yoon Seo identified the footprint, if we prepare beforehand to figure out the identities of the mafias when they came to kill me, you will be able to find out."

A quiet laugh escaped her lips. "I had many chances but I ruined them all. If I had used my skill as a police, I would've saved the others. I ruined everything." her words were tinged with regret.

"I want to do it properly this time." she said, her voice filled with determination.

You hold Na Hee's hand as she climbs to the ceiling, preventing her from falling.

She stops right as she's about to enter and looks down. "Thank you, guys." she says wholeheartedly.

"We'll come take you in the morning." Jun Hee lied. You all know it's not true, but it's comforting to entertain the possibility.

"See you tomorrow." you smile up at her. She looks down one last time, a bittersweet smile flickering across her face before closing up the ceiling tile.

You place the bottle of air freshener on the ground while Jun Hee got rid of the bucket Na Hee used to get up.

"Do you really think it'll work?" You ask, voicing the doubt that hangs heavy in the air.

"We can hope." is all he says, his words lacking conviction. "Let's go. We only have a few minutes left."

He brings you to the rooftop, he knew a good place to hide, he'd said earlier. He sits you down, and you're both left admiring the night sky, the stars twinkling above, a silent witness to the tense anticipation for the night to come.
