Chapter 19

'Why the fuck am I helping these people again?' I groaned within my thoughts, deeply staring at the golden ring in my hands. It shined brightly, and it actually kind of hurt my eyes. Like damn- too much gold.

'Are positive this is a smart thing to do?' Demi questions, but I don't respond. I have no clue what I'm even thinking anymore. The ice in the lantern city had spread to a over amount, Mk's friends behind my spoke but I kind of just ignored it all. Felt like I was drowning in my head.

Well. Until I felt the piercing eyes of them all go to me. Again, tried to ignore it. Didn't work as well now that they're actually acknowledging my existence.

"Can you back the hell away from me?" I spat, finally annoyed by the hard stares I was getting. Especially from the pig, like- have you ever heard of personal space? Jesus, he's was right up my ass...

The spiders notice my discomfort and stepped up right away, blocking their views. Mk was the first, of course, to back FAR away. Mei went to console him, but still glared at me.

"Oh yeah? You don't wanna be seen So you can take the ring to your mentor behind our backs?" Monkey king glared in mistrust and I just scoff.

"He and I aren't on good terms right now. If you haven't noticed- I'm still regrettably here. You think I WANT to be this close to you all??" I sass and watched as Huntsman stuck his tongue out at the Monkey King, irking the monkey.

"Then why are you here...?" Tang asked timidly as my hollow gaze turned to him, then on the ring. Wukong's finger twitched in expectation, ready to snatch the ring if needed.

"Because I gotta make sure you idiots don't screw this plan of yours up. If it's gotta be done...then it needs to be done right." I shrugged, patting Syntax's shoulder, signaling to the other two that there was no need to be on guard for now. Begrudgingly, the three lowered their defensive stances, but kept their eyes on everyone.

By then, everyone got a good look at my robotic appendage. Before they were to preoccupied escaping and yapping, but now, it was revealed in all its glory.

"WOW THATS SICK!!" Mk and Mei gasped, grabbing the robotic prosthetic, wiggling it around. That made me, VERY uncomfortable.

I ripped away my arm from them and snarled in their faces, making them back away. They put their Hands up defensively as they apologized.

"What happened to your arm?" Sandy asked in concern, though he was still keeping his distance from me. Probably traumatized him when I nearly choked him to death with Demi...oh well.

"Got ripped off. Lost it by that psychotic lap dog of the Lady Bitch Demon." I say causally, readjusting the arm with Syntax's help. That got a wince from everyone in the train cart.

"You mean the mayor that's probably not the mayor?" Mk tilted his head as I stare at him blankly.

"We're all gonna die if these people are the supposed saviors..." Huntsman grumbles under his breath, and I nodded in agreement.

"Now why are these shmucks with you then huh?" Pigsy asked, glaring at the spider demons.

"They're stuck with me. Or well, I'm stuck with them." I hummed showing off the spider heir mark, "The Queen wanted me to take care of em'. That's what I'm doing."

"They are our ruler now. We take orders from them." Goliath huffed, he wasn't acting like his usually sweet self. He was actually acting like he did when he used to be under the Spider Queen's rule.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. I don't necessarily have a choice to being referred as their ruler, despite me telling them multiple times I don't care what they do. But I guess spider demons really depend on their Royal Highness.
