Dear heart, do you see the bend in the road?
The place where you thought "Here my load
Of uncertainty, worry, angst, will fall."
But that is not the case at all,
For the bend in the road leads down to a vale
All filled with a mist that is deep and pale.
So deep, it is, that you cannot see
The road ahead with certainty.
Dear heart, you thought that the bend would be
The place where you found your certainty
And learned, at last, who you're meant to be.
But what, Dear heart, would your answer be
If I told you that you are not to know
The road you walk, or place you go?
Instead, though the path lead to the grave,
You are meant to walk it, blind and brave.
Brave and blind – some men would say
That this is foolishness, but they
And all the world will call 'insane'
The faith they're too afraid to claim.
Blind to the road, perhaps, but this
Is not the only Path that Is.
Though eyes can't see, the soul has eyes
And knows more than we realize
Of what we wished we'd understood:
The will of God is always good.
Dear heart, walk on, and remember this:
The sun is shining beyond the mist.
