Cry Justice

I cannot reach past space and time

To touch your beating heart.

I cannot grasp the castle sands

Before it falls apart.

The waves of time have cleaned your slate,

And space has lost your name.

No one recalls you had a fate,

And yet we're not the same.

For the lack of you leaves a bleeding hole

That some would fill with words,

The clamor of their endless din:

"Let us be seen and heard!"

You scream, demand, You stand and shout

So long and oh so loud

You drown the weeping voices out

And shred the mourning shroud.

For justice cry! You say – nay weep,

For justice shed your tears,

Anger has caused the death of these,

It will not quell your fears.

You say that something must be done,

But I can only ask

Why aren't you doing something now?

Fulfill your zeal's due task.

But no, you will not take the hand

That's bloody, broken, worn.

You will not risk a different land

Than that where you were born.

Someone must help, but someone is

Not you, or those you know.

The world must change, yet you're the same,

You whine but do not grow.

Stop up your mouth – your worthless voice,

To scream is not to save.

Reject the rage that makes you feel

The conscience salve you crave.

If you still think that war is wrong

And children should not die.

Get up and fight to stop the pain:

Become the good you cry.

Cry justice, oh you selfish world.

Cry it in deeds, not words.

Weep tears of change, and not of rage,

If you wish to be heard.

Dear child, dear child, they may regret

Your loss, but they will still forget...
