"Once upon a time-" I've forgotten how to write
Exactly what I mean, and so I use the light
Of pictoral displays to make the metaphor
To say what I wish I could say, just like I did before.
I don't understand, and I never did,
And every "I see now!" was just a trick.
"There was once a girl-" I have a thousands names
From all the definitions and all the picture games
I've played to try and find me. To put me in a box
And try to turn a soul into a model built of blocks.
It just doesn't help, and I cannot see.
With all of these names, I still don't know Me.
"And she was alone-" the most honest tale,
It's everyone's story. I follow the trail
Of choices and troubles and trials to find
That all that seemed real was just in my mind.
The gap is so deep and wide I can't cross;
But then, I don't want to – I'd rather be lost.
