In a typical college dorm room, a ringing phone stirs a young girl awake. The girl starts to rise as the phone is answered. Mary Prescott rose from her bead, as she hears her roommate in the next room on the phone. "Hello... uh-huh...Who is this? Well, we identify ourselves around here." Mary rolls out of bed, her hair falling to reveal her face and she stretches. Her face posing a survivors edge, despite her actual role, and a scar on her arm from where she stabbed herself, and where Billy had stabbed her. "I got it." She stands and moves to Hallie.
Hallie was her roommate, and her friend. Not her best friend, as that position was still reserved for Stu Macher, and Billy Loomis. Unfortunately, they realized all too late that Mary unsuccessfully killed Randy, and Billy had threatened him into silence. It would be the one and only time that Mary would fail at her role. The three made a promise to each other that they wouldn't kill anymore, as the person they aimed for was dead.
Hallie hands the phone over to Mary, who is greeted by a dark voice. A voice she is all too much familiar with, since she was once behind the voice. "Hello Mary" A voice snarls on the phone, deep and haunting, but Mary doesn't flinch. Unfortunately, Mary and the two boys were posed as the victims, so they now dealt with this shit. "Yes?" She tried to be nice on the phone. "What's your favorite scary movie?" Mary decides to play along with the man on the phone.
"Who is this?" The man on the phone pauses, before classically answering "You tell me." Mary nods, pulling a small device out hooked to the phone. She takes a look at the display and smiles. "Cory Gillis - 442 8730" There was silence on the other end, as she had taken him off guard. "Hot flash Cory, prank phone calls are a criminal defense prosecuted under penalty code 653M-" the phone clicks as the person on the phone hangs up. Mary laughs at the phone, while her roommate looks over. Mary shrugs "Enjoy the movie I guess."
"Time to change numbers again?" Hallie asks her roommate. Mary shook her head, with a smile. "Nah.. I think it'll die out. It's opening weekend. Lets just see how it plays out." Mary grabs her robe and heads to the shower, as Hallie flips through the TV guide. The channel switches to a guy on the television, his voice sad. "Please.. I just want to be left alone." His voice stops Mary cold. She turns to the television, as Hallie makes a sarcastic comment. "He sure does a lot of interviews for someone who wants to be left alone."
Hallie hits the remote, turning the TV off. The man's image disappears, as Hallie turns to face Mary with all smiles. "I know it hurts seeing him, after your sister and fathers death, knowing Sidney prosecuted wrong." Mary scoffed at her friend, but also slumped her shoulders. "I just hate seeing reminders is all.." Hallie looked at her for a second, before clapping her hands together.
"Get your ass in gear. You're late. Don't forget we have a rush at the Deltas tonight. Don't wear anything you don't want trashed. Mary? Mary?" Hallie waves a hand in front of Mary's face. Mary turns from the television, lost for a moment in her thoughts, but immediately recovers. Mary shakes her head at her friend playfully. "I can't believe I let you talk me into going greek."
Mary moves to the door and throws it open. A ghost figure leaps out at her, she flinches but stops herself. It was just a costume hung from her doorframe. Another prank. Mary rips it down, and turns to Hallie throwing the costume at her. Mary leaves the room, leaving Hallie to look at the ghostface mask in her hands.
Mary steps out of her dorm room to be met with reporters. Complete De Ja Vu. "Mary, did you know the victims?" "Do you feel responsible for the murders?" Mary stops the reporters from talking before looking at them confused. "What murders?" Microphones are shoved in her face, as Mary starts to panic. She makes eye contact with Stu and Billy who are a little farther away, trying to make their way over to her. "Do you think there will be more murders?"
Mary pushes and shoves but there was no escape from the crowd. The questions are coming at her like lightning, one after another. She sees a hole in the crowd, but gets blocked by a reporter, perfect teeth and blonde hair. "Did you kill them last night Mary? Has it gotten to you? Have you finally snapped?" Mary clenches her jaw, her eye sight becoming the red that she was afraid of. What made her Bloody Mary. She clenches her fist when someone beats her to it. A fist flies out from the crowd, connecting with the flashy womans face. Mary looks over to see her boyfriend, and lifts an eyebrow. "You'd really hit a woman Stu.." Stu looked at her, his high coming down before shrugging. Billy met up with them, and the two guided Mary out of the crowd.
Mary wastes no time with the boys, taking off and running around the side of the building. She stops, and takes a breather while Billy looks around, trying to point out any camera men. "Mary.." Stu catches his girlfriends eye, watching her calm down. "She almost let Bloody Mary out again." Billy darkly laughed, causing the girl to glare at him. He looked down immediately, but didn't lose the smirk on his lips. "What's going on." The boys looked at each other, then at their best friend before Stu took her hand, and they led her off to a more private area to talk.
