The small theatre is nearly packed to capacity. Maureen, a girl no later than 18, and her boyfriend Phil enter the theatre, moving down the aisle searching for two seats. A young girl screams, whizzing by them as a ghost faced mask guy chases after her. The crowd laughs, clearly everyone having fun. Maureen and Phil find aisle seats down towards the screen just as the lights dim. People fake scream in terror, seemingly being a very lively crowd. They are at a sneak preview of the new movie 'Stab'.

Credits roll as the movie begins.. the studio logo appears followed by "A Robert Rodriguez Film". Maureen turns to find a ghostface mask beside her, in her face. Phil slipped it on without her knowing. "I don't think so.." Phil gets in her face, playing with her. She swats at him, hitting him on the shoulder. "Take it off." Phil pouts in the mask. "But..." Maureen put her hand up to his face. "Now." He obliges taking the mask off.

"Based on the book "The Woodsboro Murders" by Gale Weathers"

Maureen looks behind her, toward the rest of the audience. A sea of white ghost mask faces fill the theatre. The publicity masks actually glowed in the dark. A chilling sight that leaves Maureen feeling spooked. The movie on the screen begins, starting with a house in the middle of no where.

Inside the house, a young girl was taking a shower. The water cascaded down her back, suddenly a figure is glimpsed behind the curtain. "Why does she have to be naked? How does that serve the plot?" Maureen looked at the screen cringing. Her boyfriend shushed her, and watched the movie from next to her.

On the screen, the phone rings. The young girl pulls the shower curtain aside to reveal a robe on a hook. She grabs it running from the bathroom, into the living room, grabbing the phone. The conversation going almost as identically as the real moment. Maureen is not having fun, already spooked by the movie.

"I hate this shit." The phone on the screen rings again after the girl hung up on him. "Why did you hang up on me.?" The girl on the screen responded "Who is this?" Maureen shifts uncomfortably in her seat.

"Why doesn't she just hang up the phone and call the police? Stupid.." Phil swooshes his girlfriend again. "I'm gonna pee. You want anything?" Phil nods, and allows Maureen to stand up and move down the aisle. Maureen emerges from the theatre and into the small lobby. It is dark and shadowed, as she moves down a long hallway to a staircase. Maureen hits the stairs to a small lounge leading to two bathroom doors with very low lighting. Maureen heads down the stairs heading for a large bathroom. Five stalls line one wall. The door creaks open, Maureen enters the stall.

She finishes up, freshening herself up. Suddenly the bathroom door creaks open, Maureen listens quietly, loud footsteps heard outside. Maureen eyes the crack in the stall door. Suddenly, a shadow sweeps by. Maureen finishes up quickly, flushes and throws the stall door open, and rushes out to find the bathroom empty. The stall doors were all closed. Maureen heads for the door, opening it as a figure runs by. A girl and her friend, both laughing and carrying on.

Maureen is out the door, now thoroughly spooked. Alone now, Maureen moves up the stairs when a figure emerges from the shadows. A ghostface appears behind her, lunging for her, grabbing her and spinning her around. She screams madly as the man in the mask starts laughing. The man takes the mask off, revealing Phil. "You ass." Maureen hits her boyfriend.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I had to. It was too easy." Maureen pouted at her boyfriend, crossing her arms. "You are so not funny." Phil chuckled, taking Maureen in his arms. "Come on baby, lighten up a little. You just gotta go with it, Scary movies are great foreplay." Phil leans down, planting a kiss on her lips, in which she caves in kissing him back.

Maureen moves up the stairs, out of sight, while she went to get popcorn from the lobby. Phil turns, reaching for the bathroom door just as a ghost faced figure appears in his path. Phil steps back, surprised. Suddenly a flash of silver catches Phil off guard as a knife pierces his skin. A long, sharp, knife. He doubles over just as the ghostface attacks again. Phil dies not even able to make a last scream.

Meanwhile, Maureen is at the concession stands, grabbing popcorn for both her and Phil, before she heads back into the theatre. The crowd is obviously very much into the movie. Maureen makes her way back to her seat, sitting next to who she thought was Phil, but with the mask on again. Maureen scoffs at him. "Give it up, how many stabs did I miss?" Maureen offers Phil popcorn, but he refuses. "Why doesn't she just run?" Phil turned to her, shushing her again.

Everyone in the theatre is screaming. Maureen tries her best to detach herself from the movie, eating her popcorn. She turns her attention to Phil, trying to get his attention. He ignores her, and she reaches over putting her hand on his knee. Maureen gives up after receiving no reaction, so she pretends to watch the movie in front of her.

She doesn't notice as Phil, or who she thought was Phil, pulls out a long sharp hunting knife from inside his coat pocket. Maureen's hand moves up when she stops, feeling something wet on her fingers. She pulls her hand back, staring at her hand that now had blood on it. Maureen looks at Phil, confused, as if only now realizing that it wasn't Phil at all. She quickly pulls away, when the man in the mask grabs her with one hand, and the other hand clutching the knife.

Maureen sees it, screaming as loud as she can. The scream is matched by the entire audience as the girl on the screen is stabbed in the heart. Maureen is helpless, the man shoving the knife fast into her stomach. She falls forward, holding her stomach. She's speechless, unable to scream in pain. She stands up, holding her bloody hand up to see, just to see ghostface coming at her again, knife in hand.

The knife slices into Maureen again, and again.. and again. The theatre audience is starting to realize something is wrong, as they see the ghostface slashing at her repeatedly. Everyone looks on, horrified. Maureen stumbles forward, her body covered in her own blood. Maureen swings from side to side, turns to the crowd and emits a loud blood curdling scream. The scream on the screen, matching the tempo of Maureen, completely drowning her out.

The ghost slashes one more time, directly and fiercely. Maureen falls back against the movie screen, obviously dead. Her arms flail across the screen, smearing blood over the screen of the white faced mask.
