"Rain again"

Kari said with a groan in annoyance as she stood at the exit of the building.

"Alright, a little rain never hurt anybody"

She said putting her earphones away in her bag before trying to make a run for it but was quickly halted by Yugi.

"Kari! Hold on a second"

He yelled. Kari stopped and turned to face Yugi with a smile.

"Hey"

She said happily

"Hi, um Kari about yesterday Yami wasn't feeling like himself"

"Tell me about it, Tea told me about the date they both had but he made it seem like it had to be a secret from me"

She said with a small pout crossing her arms over her chest.

"Which brings me up to what I wanted to ask you, by any chance are you free this weekend?"

He said starting to get a little nervous as he twiddle with his fingers.

"I am, why?"

She asked curiously tilting her head at him.

"Yami has been in a bad mood lately, and won't talk to me about it. I think you can cheer him up"

"Why not Tea?"

She asked catching Yugi off guard.

"Why not you?"

He asked back.

"I don't think this is a good idea, this seems more like Tea's job than mine besides, if you ask me they make quite a cute couple don't you think?"

She asked unaware she shrunk Yugi's heart with the mention of his crush and his best friend being together.

"Right"

He said quietly before clearing up his throat.

"So what do you say?"

He asked.

"Well, what does Tea say about this?"

"She's okay with it. Besides it's not an actual date, it's just friends hanging out and your perspective on life and the wisdom that you have can really help him out"

He said finally convincing Kari.

"Okay, I'll do it"

She said with a wink before making a run for it.

"Meet me in front of my house"

She said before ducking into the heavy rain. Yugi stood there for a moment before running into the rain.

Next Day

Standing in front of Kari's home, Yugi knocked before changing places with the Pharaoh catching him by surprise.

"Yugi, what are we doing here? Kari is mad at me remember?"

He said to the millennium puzzle but Yugi simply ignored him. The door soon opened to reveal Kari with a beautiful mini dress catching Yami by surprise once again.

"Kari, you look..."

"My mom bought it for me"

She cutting him off causing him to smile as he grabbed her hand giving it a kiss.

"Beautiful. You look beautiful"

He answered surprising Kari at the comment and the gesture. Yami confidently linked his hand with hers.

"Where are we going?"

She asked.

"Yugi had mentioned to me that you wanted to talk"

He said as he led her to the coffee shop where Tea had last taken him. As they sat together across from each other, their hands remained linked together across the table. Kari pushed one strand of hair behind her ear with a blush as she could feel Yami's eyes on her.

"So, are you just going to be staring at me all day?"

She asked lightly biting her nail nervously.

'Ugh why am I feeling like this, for crying out loud this is my best friend's crush and I'm blushing like a total idiot'

She thought before pulling her hand away from Yami who continued to smile at her.

"I was thinking, we can go see a movie or a walk at the park but I'm okay with anything you want to do"

He said. Kari took a sip of her frappe before looking out the window in thought.

"What's on your mind?"

He asked as he noticed Kari has been trying to avoid looking at him.

"I feel lost"

She said with a slight giggle before turning to face him.

"What about you?"

She asked. Yami smiled before looking down at the table.

"The feeling is mutual but being here with you just feels right"

Kari raised one eyebrow

"What do you mean by that?"

She asked.

"I mean, most of the time I feel lost but right here, right now, I feel happy"

"Do I make you happy?"

She asked. Yami chuckled as he reached out for her hand again linking them together.

"Yes"

"Good"

She said happily pulling her hand away once again.

"I kind of have that affect on people, I gotta say yesterday you were almost being a jerk to Tea after that Date you two went on, I'm surprise..."

"It wasn't a date, we're just friends"

Yami said cutting her off. Kari looked to him in surprise.

"This doesn't have to be a secret between us"

"Wait, what?"

Yami asked confused.

"Yeah, just come out and say it"

"Say what?"

"On how you feel, once you let it out you will feel so much better, come on, we'll even say it together. I am in love with... And then finish the sentence"

She said happily. Yami finally understood what Kari was saying and smiled at her.

"Very well"

He said.

"Good. I...am...in...love...with..."

"You"

Kari froze as her face heated up with embarrassment.

'I was looking for the word, Tea'

She thought and was soon pulled away from her thought as she saw Yami stood up and leaned over the table leaning closer to her.

"What are you..."

Lips were pressed against hers causing Kari to go silent as she closed her eyes enjoying her first kiss with her secret crush she's been hiding for the sake of her friendship with her best friend. Tears leaked out of the corner of her eyes. Kari open her eyes in time as Yami pulled away. Yami stood up straight and walked up to Kari.

"Come on, let's finish are date and then we'll talk some more"

He said as Kari nodded slowly. Yami offered her his arm to hold in which she gladly took with a blush on her face once again. As they walked out of the shop, a man was selling roses causing Yami to stop to buy a rose for Kari which she happily took.
