The one that got away

Chapter 6

The next day after school I took the guys to see Connor. They said they needed time to talk so I left to go get something for us to eat.

A came to a slow stop at a red light. I stared at my reflection in the small mirror in front of me. I started to think about the past and the future.

A lot has changed......I've changed.

The light turned green and I continued on my way.

I carried the food into the room. When I walked in it was really quiet and I could feel the tension in the air.

"So what did y'all talk about?" Seriously i feel like I need a chainsaw to cut through it.

"Oh uh nothing so what did you get?" Caleb spoke first. Walking over to the table I placed the food. I picked up Connors and gave it to him

"So how's zina?" I smiled and pulled out my phone to show him a picture of her.

"She's doing great, she's a handle but I love her so much." A small smile was on his face.

I started blabbering about her but stopped, he wasn't paying attention. He looked like he was in his own little world.

"Hey, are you sure everything is fine?" I also noticed him glancing at the guys when he thought I wasn't looking.

"Yeah it's okay Emma, so what do you wanna do" he took a bite of his burger. I went to my bag on the floor. I pulled out a small Woden box.

"Do you remember what this is?" I put the box on Connors lap. He smiled and opened it.

"I can't believe you still have this" Connor pulled out a stack of cards.

When we were 10, Connor came over to play with a remote control plain he had gotten. We didn't really get to play with it because it started raining so we had to go inside.

~Flash Back~

"This sucks, I really wanted to play with the plain." I mumbled.

We were currently laying face down on the living room floor.

"Are you guys really just gonna lay there and do nothing?" We looked up and saw my mom standing I front of us.

"It started raining so we can't play outside!" Connor wined and put his head back down.

"You could play a board game or have a movie day or something" my mom crossed her arms.

"The only bored games we have are scrabble and monopoly and I hate scrabble because Emma makes up words." I rolled my eyes at Connor.

"They are not made up! You just don't know what they mean because their big kid words." He really should read more.

"Whatever" he mumbled.

"Then what about monopoly?" My mom pointed out. I sat up with my legs crossed.

"We can't play that either because Connor can't seem to stop cheating" I glared and Connor.

"Hey that game goes on for EVER if I don't!" It's true, we once played for 3 hours straight.

"Then why don't you make up your own game. Well I'll be in the kitchen cooking diner." mom walked out of the room.

I'm intrigued. I mean we could create our own game, maybe some guessing thing?

I sighed. but Connor isn't the smartest kid hmmmm.

"You do know you're saying everything out loud right?" Connor raised his eyebrow at me.

Crap.

"Heard that too, and I consider my self very intelligent. He threw a small pillow at me.

After a brief pillow fight which lead to us breaking a vase and getting in trouble, we went to my room.

We decided on going with what my mom said and creating our own game.

"Okay so what do you wanna do?" I laid out colored paper, glue, markers, pencils and other stuff.

"We'll I say we should do a type of card game." I nodded.

"Sounds good but what would it be about?" We thought about it for a while.

And I mean a LONG while.

"Okay how about we do a sort of uno game." I really liked uno.

"That's good, we could make up our own signs and rules!" Connor jumped up from my bed.

"Okay we'll let's get started!" I grabbed some paper and cut them like cards.

"Okay I'll write down some signs we could use!" Connor grabbed a pencil and a blank paper.

We spent the rest of the day creating our game.

~ Flash Back Over~

"Yeah, I saved them so one day in the future we could remember how much fun we had. I even laminated them." he laughed.

"I can see that. Well how about we play?" I raised my eyebrow and smiled.

"Your on, but remember I'm a Boss at this"

"Oooo what's this, I wanna play too!" Caleb pulled his chair up next to me.

"If he gets to play so do I"

"Okay you can join too Sam"I laughed.

We played for hours until it was time to leave.

After we got home I took a shower and feed zina. The guys didn't want to go to bed yet so we decided to have a movie night.

After our second movie my eyes slowly closed and I fell into deep sleep.

Soooo I've decided to make it a short story. I still don't know how short but it will probably end in the next couple of chapters.
