FELIX CATTON'S CIGARETTE had long gone out, but there was something comforting about lazily toying with the Marlboro between his fingers without making a conscious effort to do so.

He'd tuned out the animated chatter of Farleigh, the friend group had gathered in the courtyard for their Lunch period.

Something, someone had all of his attention.

Clad in a white tennis skirt, a matching tank top and worn out boots - the girl alternated between puffing on a cigarette and biting into a Blueberry muffin.

Cyn Royce.

The girl who'd mysteriously returned just in time for the Summer holiday break after a sudden 6 month disappearance.

No one knew why she had to leave but that didn't stop the Oxford students from making her the latest hot topic.

Some say she went to Jail for murder, others claim her Father had gone bankrupt due to being caught using his Law firm as a setup for money laundering.

A different day meant a different story.

She was an enigma.

An enigma that came in the form of smooth caramel skin littered with freckles, high cheekbones, plump lips that could rival Jolie and brown eyes forever filled with caution.

Not to mention that smile, that God damn smile.

"Felix? Dude!"

Farleigh's voice pulled him out of his trance, his eyes veering away from Cyn who was sprawled out on the grass to focus on his friend once more.

"Sorry, what were you saying?"

He asked, making him roll his eyes. "We've got a tutorial, you don't wanna be late. Do you?" Farleigh reminded him.

"Right, right. Well...I'll just meet you there then." Felix trailed, still distracted.

Before he could give a response, the taller boy was already approaching Cyn who was sitting under a tree.

"Does the nicotine like make the muffin taste better or something?"
