Micah's point of view:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Happy Birthday Micah!!!!!!" Everybody yelled.

It was a very important birthday for me.

I was officially an adult...

"How do you feel about being an adult?" My boyfriend asked.

"Honestly, I JUST TURNED 18. I don't know much about it yet!"

"When are you leaving Boys Town?" Mo asked.

"When the rest of you turn 18." I declared.

Freddie had already been 18 for about a week, and Mo would be 18 in two weeks.

"Do you know what'll happen to Whitey and Plato?" Freddie asked.

"Neither of them are ready to leave Boys Town, Whitey's also a year younger than us, and Plato is 16." I explained.

"What is everyone going to do as a career?" Freddie wondered.

"I hope to go to cosmetology school and then work in a beauty salon." Mo said.

"I really hope to become an actor, and star in those big movies and be amongst the most famous people!" Freddie exclaimed.

"I don't honestly know what to do, but I think I'll stay in the music industry." I uttered indecisively.

(*a month later*)

"I would like to congratulate Micah Roberts, Mo Kahn, and Freddie Fuller! They just graduated, and are ready to go back out into society. Now each of these boys will tell their story." Father Flanagan announced.

"My name is Micah Roberts, and my mom divorced my dad, and after a few years, she was out of the picture. I spent a lot of time with my dad, and he was and always will be one of the best people I have known. When I was 13, my dad got sick, and I stayed with my aunt. I visited my dad often. One day, when I was 14, I was getting ready to go visit him. My aunt got a call from the hospital telling her that unfortunately, he didn't make it. I stayed with my aunt until she lost her house, and she couldn't take care of me so I came to Boys Town when I was almost 15."

"My name is Mo Kahn. My dad passed when I was young, and my mother wasn't very good, so I ran away at the age of 14, and came here with my best friend Micah."

"I'm Freddie Fuller, and by the age of 11, both of my parents were unfortunately gone, so I came to Father Flanagan's Home For Boys, which was in a smaller building in Downtown Omaha. We were right next door to this jeweler who had mixed feelings about this whole thing. When I was 13, I helped to build Boys Town, and I've stayed."

"I know we've all had tough lives, and I want to congratulate these fine young men for working through these rough times and have gotten stronger over time.

They came here as boys, and they are leaving as strong young men."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*The day comes when they leave Boys Town*

"On my way
Tomorrow I rise with the sun
Soon I'll be gone"

Everybody runs out of the building to see Mo, Freddie and I depart from this place for the final time.

"Does everyone want a group picture before we leave?" I yell to everybody.

"EVERBODY GET IN THE PHOTO! ON THE COUNT OF THREE, SAY BOYS TOWN!

BOYS TOWN!!!!!!!

We walked around Boys Town one last time, reminiscing about the memories that we made here, like where Freddie and I had our first date, and where Mo played that prank on Whitey, and the lunchroom where I met Freddie...

Goodbye everyone!...

As I got in the limo and saw the building get smaller and smaller as we left, I had a feeling of homesickness, after all it is the place where I made a lot of memories. I will always remember those days when I had discovered my true self, made friends, and truly had fun.

Words can't say
How the memories of feelings of love
They linger on

Oh girl
And if it takes me forever
I know it's worth every teardrop that falls
Love conquers all

Somewhere there's a place in your heart
Where the wounds never heal

Well you're not alone
That's just how I feel

Love conquers all
This one will last a lifetime

And if love conquers all
This one will last forever...

Those days at Boys Town were the days where I finally learned that

love conquers all...
